    My Project P38

Been a while but thought I'd give an update on progress, not been spending enough time on the P38 as work has been very busy along with a few other distractions but have made some progress. Replacement engine has been assembled, fitted RR sump, new oil pickup pipe, new clutch etc and its back...

cant turn engine over by hand

Just read through the thread and yes the starter has been off, 1 possible suggestion, the exciter terminal is touching the battery feed terminal on the solenoid

Buying a new clutch but which brand?

Just bought one for my P38 Diesel off eBlag, its a Valeo (LUK) for £118.71 inc VAT and delivery Click4CarParts Did have a minor hassle in that the 1st 1 turned up and was damaged in transit, they arranged a swapout and the replacement turned up today

    Retro Fit Electric Seats

Outbid, only wanted the door cards but the leather seats would have been a bonus if they fitted

Quick question before I bid, can you retro fit P38 electric seats and what is involved?

    My Project P38

AFAIK no, did find a post on a South African forum where a company over there had made a batch, looked at the price and converted to £'s and it wasn't cheap, think it was around £700-. There was a recent post on here where a guy had 3 made in the UK, used 2 on the family P38's and kept 1 as a...

    My Project P38

That depended on the state of the DMF, if it was old and worn out then providing I could source a clutch plate for a solid flywheel then yes. DMF however looks to be fairly new so am taking a chance with it. Have done a solid flywheel conversion on my Frontera and that was easy, a few...

    My Project P38

BMW turbo is similar but intake points forward rather than up so would need a straight pipe to the intercooler not an elbow. P38 turbo spins OK and no detectable play but was wondering about the seals:confused: Em, no to the bellhousing but I did remove the clutch slave first so the clutch...

    My Project P38

Just started working on my bargain basement P38, thought I'd share progress as it limps towards some sort of working order. Bought it dirt cheap just before Christmas, have wondered a few times if I have done the right thing but guess only time will tell. It is a 96 2.5 diesel, blue paint...

    radius arm bushes

Would this be all Poly bushes or just certain makes? Have used Poly bushes on the front control arms of my Frontera (think they were SuperPro) and they are working well, better than factory however a m8 had a no name set on his LR 90 and they didn't last

One of the best looking P38 conversions ?

While not being adverse to modifying vehicles this one is not to my tastes, am broad minded enough for people to accept that people express themselves modifying their cars but I reserve the right to take the ****

    DSE Not Starting

Off topic but how did you do the conversion and what clutch plate did you use? I take it the friction plate from the Ford had a sprung centre? Just about to swap the engine in my P38 and if the DM flywheel isn't good was looking to do a solid flywheel conversion, just not found any info on...

smart phone app for eas unlock???

There are other vehicles that have the OBDII port and don't use std OBDII protocols. There is an application for Lada Niva's that communicates via the OBDII Bluetooth plugs you can buy on eBlag and the Lada Niva doesn't conform to the OBDII protocols so it can be done, just needs a willling...
