Been a while but thought I'd give an update on progress, not been spending enough time on the P38 as work has been very busy along with a few other distractions but have made some progress. Replacement engine has been assembled, fitted RR sump, new oil pickup pipe, new clutch etc and its back...

Just read through the thread and yes the starter has been off, 1 possible suggestion, the exciter terminal is touching the battery feed terminal on the solenoid

Just bought one for my P38 Diesel off eBlag, its a Valeo (LUK) for £118.71 inc VAT and delivery Click4CarParts Did have a minor hassle in that the 1st 1 turned up and was damaged in transit, they arranged a swapout and the replacement turned up today

Would this be all Poly bushes or just certain makes? Have used Poly bushes on the front control arms of my Frontera (think they were SuperPro) and they are working well, better than factory however a m8 had a no name set on his LR 90 and they didn't last

There are other vehicles that have the OBDII port and don't use std OBDII protocols. There is an application for Lada Niva's that communicates via the OBDII Bluetooth plugs you can buy on eBlag and the Lada Niva doesn't conform to the OBDII protocols so it can be done, just needs a willling...

Thats sounds about right;) TBH Freelander was uber reliable :eek:, P38 is a project vehicle and does need some work but it was stupidly cheap
