I have seen a Bluetooth OBDll plug for sale on eBay for not too much money. This works with an android app called Torque Pro which is only a couple of quid. No idea how good the solution is and I know it is of no use for the EAS but base line technology appears to work.
Seeing as OBDII won't communicate with the P38 EAS. You need a special lead. About as useful as tits on a Mars bar i would think.
now....lets not go down,can't do that route...anything can be done..
for fecks sake my 72 is eas s/c quad cam etc...cant do that people said...cant put eas in ..like feck..easy..
so..smart phone is more powerful than the cheap laptop i use for eas...it has usb conectivity,so can interface with usb to serial adapter...
now that just leaves the rsw software on the phone.....now software is pretty simple,it aint like its windows7 o.s. ..so possible...just need someone ****ed off with their rr eas and a programmer to sort...may already be done???
so i ask again...anyone done it??

When EAS Unlock was being developed originally they had it running on one of those Palm or Compaq hand held jobbies so its not that far off the mark. Symbian phones were built off Psion OPL language. I had a long look at programming the code for a Psion but ran out of time and bought a Kicker instead. But I reckon it was doable except that I would have had to learn OPL from scratch to do it. The advantage of the Psion and other palm tops is that they all had serial outputs.
I don't think its too far a jump but it would require the right person having the need or desire to do it which is unlikely given the proliferation of more capable alternatives now such as Kicker, Faultmate, EAS Buddy, Hawkeye etc.

There are other vehicles that have the OBDII port and don't use std OBDII protocols.
There is an application for Lada Niva's that communicates via the OBDII Bluetooth plugs you can buy on eBlag and the Lada Niva doesn't conform to the OBDII protocols so it can be done, just needs a willling computer techie person to do it
