Why did tdci beep at me?

Dunno, but the one I test drove yesterday didn't do it. Were you able to replicate it?

    What would that mean?

    Jacking and axle stands

From experience, don't try driving onto 4 ramps on hardstanding. It's a bit of a clencher if one moves under you!!!! Don't think a combo is a problem on a flat driveway.

CONVOY for HEROES world record attempt, Gaydon, Easter 2011

As soon as I know what Landy I'll be in I'll register. Due to work will be coming no earlier than Saturday, possibly even Sunday morning. May well have seats spare (whatever I'm in will have 7 seats ).

    clatter from td5 ??

Had something similar in a Ford Focus once. A day later one of the belt tensioners came off entirely. Was a bit of a concern cos I was, ahem, "travelling" at the time.

    Buying advice

Found a great 07 plate 110 SW. Looks good all round, plus fitted with a safari snorkel, front soft A-bar (not my taste) and some genuine Land Rover driving lamps. All good so far. Only 35000 miles too. Question is, what price is good for this? My web research shows similar vehicles for...

    De-Ace a Disco 2?

Having test driven a couple of 110s recently, I think if you can cope with stiff springs ACE isn't necessary. It does a great job of reducing body roll though for a big, top heavy car with air suspension.

Right I give up --- where's the bloody gearbox ??

10 years for me. Big adjustment. But I felt it was necessary.

    Possible dodgy 110 on ebay

Fair point, but you can bet the reserve will be around 20K minimum. There's a dealer in Hertfordshire that does the same with brand new vehicles, is just a way of grabbing the attention. I'm not sure we can justify it as suspicious on that alone. If anyone is up that way be worth swinging...

    Britpart / OE Bushes

I agree - you paid for genuine, you should get OEM with the green oval. Do they have the new 24 month warranty btw? I had the same with a front hub I bought - I even asked if it had Timken bearings and was Britpart. They said yes and no (can't remember who now though ). Got a Britpart...

    Jacking and axle stands

I'll give you an early serious reply... Jack up one end (trolley jack under bell-housing), put axle stands in (under the axle - one each side), then repeat at the other. I'd start at the front. And chock the rear wheels first, stick it in low and in 1st gear too. And if you're gonna be...

You'll be needing that winch with those tyres!!!
