Sounds like Aux wiring was additional relays fitted for extra spots etc.

James is the man with experience and i would go by him. See the attached article that i found on the net . Basically if the two flanges are paralell then they should be fitted in phase. If not then they should be fitted out of phase, no of splines as per attached, or as per James.

Yes, they acid dip the chassis to clean it first, but they dont want paint and 20 years of rust, dirt and general crap dirting up their tank. most places look for old metal to be sandblasted first, but even that will only clean the externals. i am told that some places will give it an acid...

damage that bad, treated by hiding with filler, should be viewed as an indictation of the rest of the chassis ! unless you are prepared for a chassis replacement project, WALK AWAY, even without your deposit.

personnally, after standing for 2 years, i would give the rings a chance to free up by lubricating the bores and allowing them to soak for a couple of days. i wouldnt go changeing oil or diesel in case you start adding more potential problems. You will need a good battery. 1)Pull the glow plugs...
