    A/C clutch doesn't disengage

i thought the compressor clutch cycled on and off during operation. is that not correct?

    A/C clutch doesn't disengage

Thanks Datatek. Yes, the clutch does disengage when the A/C OFF button is pressed.

    A/C clutch doesn't disengage

I recently recharged my A/C on my 97 P38 as it wasn't blowing cold after not being used during the winter, and the compressor wouldn't engage. There was still some gas inside the system according to the low pressure gauge, so I topped it up. I now have cool air, but noticed that (a) the low...

    Clarion Unlock code

After doing a bit of searching, it seems that disconnecting the fuse and leaving it for a few hours will discharge the radio, and then holding the BAND button I should be able to enter the correct code, at least that's what I've read. I'll let you know.

    Clarion Unlock code

It's not the original radio that was supplied with the car. I have the code, but after the mechanic made 3 incorrect attempts it locked. Now it won't accept anything, it just displays --- --- --- ---

    Clarion Unlock code

Hi. After changing the battery, the mechanic decided to take a break and listen to the radio in the comfort of my P38. In doing so he managed to lock the radio!!!! Does anyone know the code to unlock the Clarion Diversity? Thanks

    Replacing Instrument cluster

The message centre on my instrument cluster has an increasingly bright background. I decide to buy a used cluster and swap over the message display. In HK the speedo is only in KPH, so I can't swap to a cluster with MPH/KPH as it won't pass the MOT. Go figure!!!! Does anyone know if my...

    Rear door glass outer channel

Thanks. I have new ones so no intention of putting the old ones back. Silicon grease may be worth a try. It may also help prevent moisture. Thanks again! Hugh

    Rear door glass outer channel

No, it's the rubberised surround that the window slide between. It fits on the inside edge edges of the window frame.

    Rear door glass outer channel

Thanks, but I'm referring to the rubberized glass channel surrounding the upper door frame. I have removed the lower seal, no problem.

    Dash/Console Bulbs

I recently change some of mine. Tested them all with a 9V battery before putting everything back together, then l low and behold, cruise control and hazard bulbs didn't work. Tooke it all out and cleaned the contacts, fine. Back together again. Then.........one of the three bulbs lighting the...

    lovely p38

I saw one near where I work (HK), just abandoned in a car park. It's common when people come to the end of a contract and leave. They can't be bothered to sell their old car, so they park it and remove the plates and licence and fly off home. Good interior, clean body. Yea, I know, book and...

    Rear door glass outer channel

The rear outer glass channels on both rear doors are really badly corroded and bubbling. Really ugly! I've got new ones, but the old ones seem really stuck. I've checked through RAVE but can't find a procedure. Has anyone replaced these before, and do they have any tips? Thanks!

    Flickering dash display

Check the earth points. Mine did this after I cleaned all the earths and added conductive grease for good measure. Turned out the conductive grease made it a hell of a lot worse, and made the dash flicker nicely! Good clean earths, nice a tight........without busting the studs!!! They are...

    height sensors

Try swapping them over. They only use half the potentiometer, so the other half should be fine. A lot of people have said this isn't worth the effort, but I've done it to get myself out of trouble and it works fine.....and still working months later. At least it will get you past Christmas, you...

    Condenser Fans & Alternator

Back to my P38 97 4.6 HSE. If my A/C needs recharging would the condenser fans run continuously when the ignition is switched to position 2 without the engine running? It's not very cold at the moment. What would cause an Alternator Fault message alternating with the battery charge warning...

Fixed one electrical problem, now more!

It's the temp gauge and alternator fault that really fox me. I believe I'm correct that the temp gauge gets it's info from the BeCM, so any idea how I can test it?

Fixed one electrical problem, now more!

I did take a photo before removing the old one, just to record relay and fuse locations to be safe. They look both the same to me.
