if you have been running 1.7 bar for 13 years and no issues that's brilliant check the pipe from the turbo to the injector pump for a leak it needs that pressure to push the boost pin down

Someone posted on this forum that they fitted a gas flow head from turners I think and one of their comments was that the sound levels at idle seemed a lot quieter or less tractor like Yours ?

That 4 times press has worked for me as well to resync -

1.7 bar from the turbo is huge-in theory a diesel can never have enough air but that's the most I have heard about If you turn the screw-at the back of the injector pump- from the 12 o clock position to the 20 min past position you should fly like a scolded cat

for the alternator to produce current / voltage it needs a supply from the battery to start the process so it's one of the wires connected to the alternator

Are the pistons oversize at all ?

mine is a D1 so that "breather hole " is covered by a plate with a bearing on it for the aircon belt tensioner not sure if this is the answer you were looking for

I second that on the release bearing noise - have had them done at least 5 times and they all are noisy within 5000 km But it was a dry wining sound - not rattily

Mine is the same as that one the only issue I had was that both inlet and outlet don't have a little raised lip like the original - so the silicone pipes in my case didn't want to seal nicely and a better set of hose clamps was required

the only other place it could leak from would be the pin through the body that connects to the turbo waste gate thingy bullhorns maybe ?

you have 1 or more UJ's worn very badly get someone to turn steering from side to side while watching from below easy to spot - scary to drive like that

I had something similar and turned out the brake shoes in the drum needed re- alignment Replaced the shoes and all the little clips and springs and all good to go maybe take the pressure off the shoes by adjusting the adjuster at the bottom of the brake drum off and see what happens cant...

I think the "core plug' is tapered so it cant fall inwards. In the global south we call them a welsh plug though Lucky it's that one that's leaking as there is one at the back of the motor as well I have had one blow out 30 mins of driving after picking it up from my mechie who replaced them...
