Only diesel P38's that are 99 or after have the EGR system so that's why you don't have the bits shown Steve. I also don't have EGR owing to the fact mine is a 98 model. -Wills :)

My completely random way out there guess would be something along the lines of if the engine ECU doesnt know whats going on with the EGR (whatever does go on with it) then it maybe uses a restricted set of fuel mappings or something as well as diasbling cruise control as it can't figure out how...

hmm, figured it (I think) - it's to do with the EGR system on the 99-> diesel P38's. Its under the EGR section in Microcat, that little filter is shown along with the other bits and bobs shown in the pics above. -Wills :)

The other thought could be a hairline crack in the head opening up at high temps and pressurising the coolant and then blowing the rad?? This is what happened to me and I ended up with a new head, rad, water pump etc Was difficult to spot as it only happened at high temps. -Wills :)

Not surprised as my P38 also has cruise control but on the diesel versions of the P38 there were no cruise control pipes - it is all done electronically in the engine ECU rather than with vacuum pressure holding a throttle cable in the set position like on the petrol models. Can you post up...

how did you remove the intercooler, did you follow RAVE instructions, i.e., remove battery, ecm, battery box and go that way or can you skip most of those steps?? oh, and cruise control pipes - on a diesel?? :confused: -Wills :)

Don't leave it though - sort the switch out because as the vehicle thinks the door is open the EAS is, in effect, frozen - no height changes will take place nor will any self levelling happen. -Wills :)
