LOL, you wish... impact wrench undid every bolt/nut I tried in the blink of an eye... compressor is reasonably built for the money and the tools are fine. Didn't realise they came with it, but also got a few impact sockets which seem pretty bulletproof! All comes with a 3 year guarantee...

Piece of ****... took me longer to find my spanners than do the job! Rear diff mount is next job and have a feeling it's not going to be as easy... off to Aldi first, of all places, to buy a compressor and air impact wrench (compressor £60, wrench £17 - not bad, I think???)

Amongst the many things that my Freeby needs doing are the anti-roll bar links... I've just ordered a couple, which hopefully I'll get tomorrow... Are these easy to replace for a competant DIYer... looks pretty easy, but should i book it in for this when i have the clutch done?

not really got all that stuff or the time, disco. The release bearing is part of the hydrolic slave cylinder, from what I can gather, so I'll just buy the clutch and slave cylinder and hope the flywheel is OK... as that's an extra £300 i think!

Borg and Beck seem to have a good reputation in online reviews and they seem to come with a 2 year warranty... not sure how this works for labour costs though! Any advice anybody? Want to get this sorted int he next couple of weeks...

Loads of clutch kits on Ebay... is a non-original one OK? AP Driveline and Borg and Beck are the ones I've seen. Should be able to get it done cheaper if I supply the parts...

Local specialist in Warrington quoted around £450!! Can buy the plate from Paddocks for £65 + VAT. How much should labour be and are there any other parts?

Clutch has started slipping on my 2002 td4... What should I expect to pay for a replacement to be fitted? Is it worth taking it to a Landy specialist or will a clutch specialist do the trick? Thanks in advance!

Okey doke... currently got the arse end up on ramps and am trying to suss out where the clunking is coming from on full lock. If I push the rear diff it does move, but it's as though it's supposed to... rubber bushes and all that. What am I supposed to be checking for?

Well the motor passed it's MOT and the tester couldn't find any problems... I did speak to a Landy specialist and he suggested the anti-roll bar linkages. Not bothered to get it fixed yet, as I've been too busy... more bothered about the cluning noise coming from the rear when I turn on...

Bugger. Where's the best place to get them from?

Never really been bothered by this before, but I've noticed it more and more lately... When I go over a speed bump or drop off a kerb a bit too quick, I notice a resounding thud from the front right side of the car. It seems to be on the down side, rather than the up side of the speed bump...

Having just come back from Scotland... where we did a lot of miles both on and very seriously off road (middle of moorland estates), I can say that aside from the odd niggly complaints about Freelanders, they are about as good as you can get - if you need to do a combination of on and off road...
