19j waste gate restrictor valve???

Last weekend my mate Phil and I fitted an oil catch tank to the rocker cover breather on my old 110 19j engine. While we were there he asked if I wanted to make the old girl a bit more powerful. What he did was, took the waste gate pipe off the turbo, and put a restrictor in to the pipe (an...

    110 v 130 crew-cab pickup

I've got a 110 hi-cap. The turning circle is the equivalent of my old Disco. I also drive a new 110 for work, and its like trying to turn an ocean liner around. Strange. With something like a 300tdi you can also wind the fuel pump up to give you a little more power. Did it to my Disco and...

Baler twine was invented by god.... That and zip-ties. Once towed a pretty stuck transit out of a field using a couple of bits of twine.

    mot failure

The trailer lights are usually connected to the car via the drivers side rear lights. Try looking there to see if there's anything obvious.

    Protecting towing electrics.

I relocated the towing electrics on my Disco to the rear door, was pretty easy. Have seen a couple of Defenders with the electrics on the rear near the lights..

    110 suspension am I mad.

I've got them on my 110 hicap, and had 'em on my disco too. But I have the pro-comp shocks. I like them, they're not too stiff for day to day stuff, and when you put some proper weight on the Landy they don't wallow about. Thumbs up from me.

    Squeaks and squeals : (

You *might* have the wrong hubs for your alloys, (freestyles, Right?). On mine, '89 110 hicap, the drive flange bolts sat too proud to let the wheel sit flush on the hub, no matter how tight I did the wheel nuts up. This leaves you with 2 options as I see it. 1. Grind a bit of 'meat' out...

    Bank Holiday Defender Buyer's Blues

They are out there. I paid 700 quid for this. (the green one on the trailer!!) [/IMG] And 2 weeks later, a lot of swearing, 150 quid and a couple of late nights... Mot'd and taxed. [/IMG] They are about. Keep at it.

    Opinions on this disco ?

Looks like it might be a Jap re-import?? seems to shiny to me, and the seats look knackered. It's waaay over-priced, at 1800 quid. And he took it in Part ex and has done nothing to it, but clean it.

Right So after I managed to nearly kill myself to death with the driver's door, I decided to try and affect a temporary repair until I could afford to replace it. The frame had cracked through at the bottom, and it was only the skin that was providing any strength. It looked like this...

Sprog's Shouting His New 110 Thread.

To fit the rear springs, I borrowed Phil's workshop. I used the 2 poster ramp, so that as the Landy was lifted it would dislocate the rear springs. It was then just a case of undoing the spring retainers, and lifting out the old springs. [/IMG] With the front lift done...

I then went to my local Landrover independent for some bits and pieces. Asked them for a price on some +2 inch rear springs. "Do you want the yellow HD ones?" matey asked "Yeah" I said "They'll match the fronts" "That's handy" he said "I've some here, you can have them for 30 quid!!"

Sprog's Shouting His New 110 Thread.

Ok. So, I left off having just finished the new springs and shocks. The front bottom shock bolts were a real pita to undo. I ended up having to take the springs out, by getting the axle to articulate as much as I could by getting a bottle-jack between the axle and chassis, and jacking...
