Who said it was a bearing I didnt.
Until its looked after no one knows the fault or if indeed there is a fault.
Thanks for the feedback and comments.

Time not enough.
Me and car fixing is ok but would rather someone else did it.
More money than sense my misses says.
:) :)
Will jack it up and give it a pull and push over the weekend when I have time.
Thanks for the info.

Thanks.
MOT is due in November and if it needs doing then it has to be done but fingers crossed and I hope its not an expensive fix thats needed.

TD4 2006 (The one above).
Wifes car but noticed the other day it sounds like a barring has gone or is it more serious? it sounds like a wirling noise if you know what I mean :)
Is there a simple check to pin point the problem?
Regards
Purchased a 2006 (Facelift) TD4 last year for the misses and done all the usual upgrades and so far its not missed a beat and drives well.
She's happy and thats the main thing.
Why's that?
My misses drives the Freelander and its an auto plus its fitted with all the usual changes and a Synergy and Pierburg MAF and its set at 2 and has been for months.
Interesting to know why 2 or 3 is not recommended now?
Im the other way round. A few years ago I paid £12k for a Discovery and over 5 years of ownership I paid well over £5,000 in repairs.
When I sold it I got £1800 for it.
Now my wife owns a 2006 TD4 and I find it better than the discovery and I've driven a few 4X4's.
