i'd leave it in situ to do repairs.i had to replace both footwells and pillars and if it had been off the vehicle nothing would have lined up again.as has been mentioned i think you'll find some gurt big holes when the screen frame comes off.

get an arctic heater,got mine off ebay with all the hoses and vents for £35.
