Try dropping the gearbox from a 300tdi Disco, First job remove engine mounts and lower enjun so you can just about see the top bell housing bolt, find that no spanner will fit properly to get the fecker undone easily, then rehang the enjun to undo the rest of the bolts and drop the box.
No wonder they do all that before stickin the body on in the factory

Umm....I removed centre console (one screwdriver needed) and used 15mm deep socket on the end of an extension bar.

wow people on both sides actaully showed sense. fantastic stuff! im on hughesy's side here, but its all opinions, as opposed to stone wall right and wrong
oh and i have to be honest with you, i quite enjoy worknig on my defender. its a damn sight easier than most vehicles, my other car is a c2 and that is a ****ing nightmare. im not a decent mechanic by any means, but a mixture of reading the haynes manual, having more things go wrong with my landy than there are things wrong withsupercoolwillow, and therefore having to fix it, having some people on here to point you in the right direction - and having a half decent tool set, has made me half proficient.
