    P38A Pinking Under Load

Ressurecting this old thread. Turns out the pinking was down to the MAF, thanks Wammers. Swapped it out for another cheap pattern one to confirm and the pinking went away, for about a fortnight, then started throwing the same code again. Have ordered the Bosch MAF now. My question is will I...

    P38A Pinking Under Load

It shall be cleaned first. Reading into Maf's seems it's worth splashing out on the Bosch one. Will an overnight battery disconnect reset the fuel trims?

    P38A Pinking Under Load

Oh dear Wammers if I didn't need to depend on your fountain of p38 knowledge, promoting those oil burners would be fighting talk ;/ I've only had one and it was a classic with the VM so am understandably against them. But I have noticed the MAF fitted is one of those pattern/no brand types...

    P38A Pinking Under Load

Thanks for that, my gas system does have advance the timing when running LPG, have a few questions!- Could a faulty MAF even cause pinking? Is there anyway to bench test the MAF, I don't really want to spent £150 on a new one to find it makes no difference. I only have basic OBD diagnostics...

    P38A EAS LEAK FINDING

Well it spat it's dummy out on the way home for the first time since switching to eas. Came up with an EAS fault left the arse end in the air and the front deflated on bump stops. Got it home like that's as the eas kicker I bought did nothing ;(, and plug in the eas suite cleared the fault and...

    P38A EAS LEAK FINDING

Sounds like a good place to start. I've got the valves and had a problem with the n/s rear going down so replaced the feed line. I guess the spray bottle method is just set it to high and spray everything you can get too. Will give it a try thanks
