What have you done to your Freelander today

Finally sorted the soft clutch after replacing the gearbox, new bracket and Slave Cylinder was needed so installed those, and while I was there, fixed a horrible squeal that we had on start, tightening the alternator, what a lovely start now 😂 Please forgive the state of the engine bay!!! I...

    Freelander 1 Engine support tool .. query. [ td4 ]

Used this when I replaced my gearbox, and actually used it and some brute strength to remove the engine, problem I came across is that the engine sits very far forward in the engine bay and so you end up with the having to pull the engine backwards, which when trying to get to the coolant pump...

What have you done to your Freelander today

100% The shape of the chisel I ended up having to use a pry bar make the gap between the UJ and bolt tint slam the thing in that smack it as hard as possible into the bolt to slightly move it, bit by bit, honestly might just buy another propshaft next time!

What have you done to your Freelander today

Finally got around to those whirring VCU Bearings.... Oh Boy I hope I never have to do that again... The Middle to rear shaft popped off without issue... The Front to Mid? What a story. I started off by just me and a friend pulling. No Luck, so we decided to heat up the splines area to hope...

    Brake Shield and MOT

I see the issue here 😂 You're assuming a UK MOT Makes sense! It does not 🤷‍♂️ (If it causes a safety issue it will likely fail an MOT, safety is Braking, Steering, Controlling and Airbags / Seatbelts)

    Brake Shield and MOT

I suppose the logic there is if you get a flat or breakdown you get it towed but if you have a bald spare people would rather install an illegal tire than get a tow 🤷‍♂️

    Freelander 1 Exhaust Systems...?

Hmm, that looks even more different 😂 super confused by the exhaust system on this car, I'd like to get a look at the underside of that thing but wouldn't expect you to be getting under it! If you were in the UK I would've snagged that from you yesterday for $50!!!

    Freelander 1 Exhaust Systems...?

No I don't have have the 2 hole manifold one, I've the 4 hole one, I chose to use my old one because I figured it would fit the frame more than the engine... The issue isn't where the downpipe attaches to the headers it closer to where the down pipe attaches to the cat. but I have the 4 bolt...

    Freelander 1 Exhaust Systems...?

No no, you are right 😂 it's the replacement part I bought that doesn't fit, just trying to find the correct part, I don't suppose you have any 1.8 FL's with the exhaust still on it?

    Freelander 1 Exhaust Systems...?

Thanks for the reply, @andyfreelandy may be able to tell you exactly what car the engine came from however I'll provide some more context. Before the engine replacement I was replacing the gearbox  I know... I was following a workshop manual to remove the gearbox which said I needed...

    Freelander 1 Exhaust Systems...?

Hey! been a while all but I am stumped on this one! I have a 1999/2000 1.8K where I replaced the engine with that came a new exhaust downpipe that includes the flex pipe however it is rubbing on the IRD pinion when trying to drive because it is not bolted up where it used to (To the IRD Pinion)...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Took 'er to work today, 40 miles each way (80 miles if you needed me to tell you), so a good way to test the hoses, now it could just be how this works, but it was 7 Celsius and initially driving and temps were great after installing the new Thermostat and Silicone hoses, but once I hit the...
