    i have just had a better look and found that it has a 9 em ignition module bolted on the side if the distrubitor the two wires go into this little box then to come out and into the distrubitor

    sorry no pics but i have some details i have a lucas 2.C.E. constant energy ignition unit it has the coil bolted to it is this any good i'm not sure that this came of the original range rover but it came with the engine

    the engine is out of a 1987 RR body ser 2 running gear 90 the coil is bolted to a box with + - going in and then up to the coil and another 2 going down to the pick up im not sure what this is called i will try measuring the resistance between the 2 wires? i dont have a seperate amplifier...

    yes this is ok. i have a spare so i changed it over, still no spark there are 2 wires coming out that go to the ignition box with a live and negative going to the ignition box and i think up to the coil i presume that one of the wires is live to the distributor and a return but i have not...

    i have just changed this 3.5 for my old p6 that had points nd i never had any problems with it i have new ht leads, distributor cap, rotor arm,coil,plugs but i have not changed the ignition box. i cannot get a spark but i do have a spark going into the distributor

    Thanks the engine has just been put in it had an old p6 Rover v8 in it before so it has no electrics connected only jump lead to starter and earth on engine i have a wire to solenoid and live / earth to coil

    i have a RR 3.5 efi engine in a ser 2 there is power to the coil and into the distributor cap but no power out so no spark. fitted another rotor arm, disrubitor cap,ht leads and plugs still no spark the coil has wires going into a box i presume this is the controller for the electric ignition...

    thanks yes the bolt was lose not sure how much damage is done i will take the sump off this weekend and see if i can assess the damage

    i have a R/R dse 1997 with a bmw engine i was driving along when the oil light came on within half a mile i was slowing down and it cut out i checked the oil and its ok not even low the temperature gauge is normal when it has sat for an hour it will start but only drives slow then cuts out after...
