Freelander 1 Parting company...

...after just over 5 years of ownership and 62000 miles I've taken the decision to part exchange my 2004 TD4 auto for something newer with less miles and not a Land Rover. On the whole, I've enjoyed owning and maintaining it, but the maintainence part is getting harder for me as I now have...

    Freelander 1 Turbo oil leak

From the location of the turbo I guess it's quite labour intensive to replace. I've certainly done more stuff on the FL myself than any other vehicle I've owned, but to be fair to it, I have owned it longer than other cars I've had. There is part of me that would have a go at replacing the...

    Freelander 1 Turbo oil leak

I always struggle to get the images from photobucket into the posts/threads when using the iPad… Thank you for the reply. So, in a nutshell it'll need a new turbo before long then. Do you mind me asking how much it all was?

    Freelander 1 Turbo oil leak

While giving my 2004 TD4 a service earlier, I noticed this... [/IMG] It's done 175k, has been serviced regularly and is running well. So, is it a sign it's about to expire. It looks awkward to get at and probably beyond what I want to tackle myself, so guess it will be quite expensive...

    Good lr garage fred

Have just bought a few bits from Matford Land Rover (main dealer) in Exeter after seeing their shop on eBay with a couple of bits I wanted. There was another part I'd found on Shop 4 Auto Parts (cheapest I could find for genuine part) and Matford undercut the price on that and delivered (free...

Freelander 1 Just bought this - '54 TD4 SE project

Normally the FBH will fire up when the outside temp is down to a certain level (can't remember what the actual is...) so the engine and therefore heater warm up more quickly. As Nodge68 has done, you can wire it up to fire remotely...

Freelander 1 Just bought this - '54 TD4 SE project

That does look really tidy and I would also say from looking at the top picture that you have an FBH. How many miles?

What have you done to your Freelander today

Set about replacing the radiator yesterday by dismantling everything (in the sunshine) and fitted the new one this morning (in the rain) and it's quite an undertaking! The one I have replaced was a replacement I had fitted just over 4 years ago. I had it fitted by my local LR specialist, but...

Holme On Spalding Moor, York, East Yorkshire to Oxon/Warks...

Thank you for the reply, I haven't looked at this thread for a few days. Anyhoo, it's the shell, but with the spare wheel carrier attached. They are willing to package it up, but I need to find my own courier which I was trying to do through my work, but they didn't seem to keen and to do it...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Got a couple of new tyres fitted (yes, on the rear) yesterday. Took the opportunity to remove the spare wheel carrier and remove all the grot that had worked its way in there over tha last 12 years!

What have you done to your Freelander today

Found this yesterday morning. I don't suspect foul play as the passenger side is up against the hedge when on the drive. Got the new on fitted tonight after stripping the door down and cleaning up all the glass which was absolutely everywhere after I shut the drivers door and the glass fell out…!
