    Did you get any joy with your military replacement? Have the same problem but welded the original on.

    Having taken the full rear axle out yesterday I am now entering another bit of new territory for me in my quest for completion. I am assuming that this is a Salisbury as it matches other pictures I've seen. The outside is becoming nice and clean and shiny: but shiny doesn't make it work...

    So why do I have one different one? I've been reading about RH and LH being different otherwise the landy will tilt to one side. Mine tilts to the passenger side. maybe someone has muddled my springs??

    Spring off! Axle looking clean. Clean drum. Primed one coat. Spring separated for cleansing. Rust removed, first primer coat applied. Ready for finishing tomorrow. Now to read up on how the brakes work!!!

    Update time. After getting the tub off it exposed other stuff to do and motivated me to do some of the bits that have been hanging around for weeks. Stripped the bonnet back to metal, new rivets and three coats of primer Then two coats of bronze green Coming up OK so far...
