The only holes in the box floor are these grid ones. Are they the right ones ? The ones at the front are rusted through. So I may need to get an alternative solution.

Hi a couple of questions I need some help on please. This is on my 1994 300tdi 90 CSW I am going through the process of taking out my old battery a weak and died 072 and replacing it with a much bigger 110a battery as recommended by a few of you on here. Only had the land a few weeks so...

So I’m clearly a dunce. Just gone out again with the mm ser to amps on the 10A scale I get a reading of 0.011. So I think I’m fine.

So found a way to check drain and done so and there is less than 0.3 amps when using 10amp scale and 11 when using micro amps plus alternator is cold to touch. So I am assuming there is not current drain. the battery is unknown age and although a 072 is only 563 CCA so I guess a new battery...

So I have gone out tonight with the multimeter. At the bolt at the back of Alternator I get 12.2 v. (Probe on bolt and other probe on engine block) At the battery (on the two terminals) I get the same. So I think that sounds like alternator is okay interestingly it won’t start today showing...

Thanks. If I don’t have power there what is likely to have blown? The headlights still work without the loom.

I was taking it from the bolt on back of alternator that has a brown wire running off it already. It is secured with 10mm nut. Where is the fuseable link?

Did you have to take wing liner off? So it sounds like I’ve probably fried the relay.

Sounds like I did similar drivers side I chose the bonnet stay bolt and passenger the power steering bolt.

Yep I guess that’s ideal if you are starting from scratch. But the pre made loom must have a concept of where it should earth.

So decided that as well as replacing the headlamps I would add a Boomslang. All seemed to be going well - got it fixed on headlamps. Found a couple of places to earth it and ran cable to back of alternator. Tried it and the headlamps worked. Then to route the wires better I decided to take it...

Because I’ve managed to clip Them in and the metal connectors aren’t locked. Looks like they cannot be locked with the yellow bit in.

Is there a way to get the yellow centres out or once they are in the are in?

I guess I will be drilling out the Allen bolt.
