Whats the top 5 things to look for when buying a 90?

Check the outriggers for any major rust. If you aren't a guru get the RAC to check it out for you (will cost £300+ for 4x4 inspection but is worth it, as they'll let you know what's wrong with it.).

    A Cautionary Tale!

'Played with' isn't the same as modified with a view to increasing the bhp! How many accessors put lannies onto the rolling roads to check the BHP against the stock figures?

    Kerosene as Fuel?

Was speaking to a work collegue and he uses the following for his Toyota HiLux: Kerosene Engine Oil. He mixes 250 ml of oil for every 25 litres of kerosene and it runs fine, he's not had any problems and has been doing this for years. The oil being mixed thoroughly into the kero. for about 5...

Ex-MOD Snatch land rovers - are they road legal?

If you can source and buy one before they get exported from the armed forces then you are doing well. Very, very few of them are sold onto the civilian market. They are heavier and often are not hard-top. Nice accessorys though...

Just wondering if people on here have trained their other half up on the ways of the Landrover...? Can she drive it? Can she maintain it? Can she fix it up? What about more heavy duty work like timing belt change etc? It could come in handy that more of our partner's know the score with the...

Blue Land Rover Defender 90 Stolen from Merseyside

Did you have any heavy duty mechanical immob like a Disklok or clutch claw fitted? Against the pro's it's hard to stop them but having it wired up to the mains is what some do. Yes I know it's technically against the 'law' (statutory) but in my book so is 'allowing' a crime to take place. ;)

    Repairs to Rear Crossmember

At the time I was in the middle of the countryside, many miles from a welder. I had all the kit to hand and for such a tiny hole it's not major. It's nowhere near any structural point I can see (ie towing bit or a welded join).
