    I’ve done it now it’s all good , it was stagnant water and clumps of mud and there was also little stones on there. I don’t expect it to be pristine it was just stopping me from getting into gear correctly as it was that full

    Yeah I noticed what you said about the crank lock tool I’ll have another look into it , I was just hooping I could get it going without before I get paid and can order some more tools , I also now need to replace the idler pulley bearing

    ahh lynall we meet again I was a bit worried about taking it for a run , I have done the Timing as per a pervious post but I have read the standard is 1.54mm lift and the sweet spot for no smoke is 1.60mm

    I’ve just had a read thro that I think a dti gauge is in order if I can’t get the timing right , I will still try to fix the timing in the mean time.

    I’m gonna go out tomorrow morning and have another play because I can adjust that timing with completely taking everything to bits again the car is 100% better than this morning I’ve just not got it dialled in to be perfect again , looks like I’m back in the boring car for a while

    I did Manage to find some from eBay but they would only arrive Friday and that’s even if our post is normal , I live on. Anew build estate and the post man just can’t be bothered coming for days / weeks at a time , I’ve found one on Amazon that’s basically the same that’ll be delivered Friday...

    I know talk about luck I was gonna start having sleepless nights over engine replacement costs , got a kit on order while I’m there I’ll replace everything and hopefully its the last none cosmetic modifications/ fix for a long time

    itll take a look under the timing cover as it’s the cheapest option I can’t imagine getting the head stripped again will be a cheap / easy job
