Hi I've just bought a 90 with mahoosive 285 km3s on - not a bad thing As most of my driving will be on road, with a bit of green laning and pay and play, i wanted to swap to AT tread of a similar size (as its lifted) Anyone got any insight into whether it'll improve the road manners...

Well I did it! I am the proud owner of a new 'Rat Truck' :) 3.9l V8 90 - Frankenstein - Defender I've had it since Thursday and I've already started 'improving' it. I've decided its not a car, it's a hobby, that way i can justify more cars too:)

How would i tell? how would anyone tell short of disassembling it? the guy selling it had it done 14 years ago and says he was open and honest with DVLA who said to leave it as a discovery

I thought that if the chassis hasn't been cut then it still was legal as a rebody. I know you cant shorten a chassis any more

there is a rebodied Disco I/II with an auto and 300tdi and a 90 van top on near me, I think it is correctly still registered as a disco. Just wanted to garner peoples thoughts as to whether I'd be better off waiting for an 'original' (with a b*****dised gearbox transplant)
