How do i change clock bulb?

Well when the sun is out I really can't read the clock so as I drive with sidelights on I am hoping that a decent LED will make it more visible, I suppose I could wear a wrist watch

What have you done to your Freelander today

My A/C compressor arrived today through visiting friends who drove down from Glasgow, does anyone have any tips on fitting one. It cost £50 including delivery to Glasgow and was sold as reconditioned. I will have a go at fitting today and having it recharged tomorrow.

What have you done to your Freelander today

Changing the subject slightly, when I upgraded the turbo filter I pulled out the big air filter behind it. It was not too dirty but I found that the white outer fabric cover just slipped off. I did a little test and found that this cover is washable and the paper filter under it was still quite...

Thanks for that Rich, mine is a 2003 TD4 Mk1 BMW Diesel motor 3 door so I don't know if there is a huge difference between yours and mine,. The aircon system has already been vacuumed out by a specialist after they tried to do a recharge and found the pump was dead. I managed to find a recond...

2012 Defender attempted theft in Todmorden, organised crime.

I saw a story that a Police inspector in south Africa was fed up being attacked by car hijackers whilst IN his car so he fixed up a system that allows him to press a button a huge flame shoots out from under the car on both sides. Seems like a good idea but maybe not legal in the UK as you are...

    IRD oil

On top of that it cost 36 euro for 2 ltrs. As I said in my earlier post it was last serviced in Greece and judging by what they did to the filter who knows what oil they put in the IRD, if they changed it at all. Many thanks for that Nodge, I can now sleep at night. Paul

Forward mounted top lights are a lot of fun in snow as well, you will have to wear a pair SUPERGALACTIC PERIL GLASSES, you know, the ones that turn black when they sense danger to stop you from panicing. " from the hitch hikers guide to the Galaxy"

    TD4 Crankcase breather filter missing.

This seems like an old thread but someone may read it. Can you guess what this is? It is the filter that came out of the crankshaft breather following a full service and filter change, in Greece. As you can see they have chucked away the outside of the filter, kept the interior cage and...

    VCU Torque test results

Logically a system of a white spirit circulation pump operating whilst turning the discs should work and the more gunk you get out the easier it should be to turn. I have just purchased a thermostat, engine breather filter upgrade and an air mass thingy that I hope to install this weekend. You...

I think a friend of mine in Glasgow sent me a video of a guy who has powered his bike with electric drills. I will see if I can find it. It seemed to work ok.

    VCU Torque test results

I think you are right about the mess so I will clean it out as Alibro describes using an oil pump to circulate the white spirit and turning it during this process. I would think that you can only turn it by hand initially as you get the gunk out and maybe use a slow turning lathe (which I don't...
