L322 couldnt resist it..HGV driver beats Land Rover's designers to making a cabrio

Well no.. if that WAS yours you would never have been looking forward to driving a Range Rover for Christmas at all, you'd have been looking forward to driving an Evoque, if anything, because that's what that is... it's an Evoque, not a Range Rover.

Evoque Cabrio..... now that's an idea I can get behind. I sure hope you're right and it inspires Land Rover to make a Range Rover version!

    Too robust and aggressive

I have a 1967 Volvo 122 which has the exact same safety feature. Always worked for me.

What did you do with your Range Rover today

"Memory" rear view mirror! Even the L405 doesn't have THAT!

What did you do with your Range Rover today

If the rearview mirror goes and it drips onto the "wood" gear lever trim, you won't be laughing! I was offered an "upgrade" to one of those a while back and I said no way. I've seen it happen to a buddy's HSE and I'm happy to keep flipping the little toggle on my DSE's old fashioned mirror!

What did you do with your Range Rover today

The auto dip comes with electric seats. Cars with manually adjusted seats don't have the auto dip function, strangely. My DSE started life with manually adjusted seats, no auto dip. A few years ago, I happened upon a set of electric seats still with the original grey Connoly on them and so I...

Yep it's gone. If that's an auto dimming mirror then yeah, time to buy a new one.

P38A Dreaded EAS fault (Max 35MPH) is this going to empty my wallet ?

Congratulations! The swearing and the lube help, don't they? :D

    Does anybody know if..........

Erm..... well, just because they LOOK the same doesn't mean they'll fit the same- or work the same. I think the starter has a better chance of being compatible because it bolts onto the engine body and engages the flywheel directly and it'll make no sense for BMW to have different shaped, or...

    Does anybody know if..........

Nope..... the PAS pump off our DSEs LOOK like the one off the 325TD/S. The ones off the 525TD/S and 725TD/S look completely different. IF any of the BMW M51 PAS pumps will fit our DSEs, it'll be the E36 one. Just trying to roll a good thing here- if the alternator and starter motor will fit...

    Does anybody know if..........

Oooo! That's great news on the starter motor and the alternator. I'll make a note of that! So it's 3 series for the PAS pump and 5 series for the starter motor and alternator, huh? Well.... we'll know about the PAS pump as soon as I find one.

    Does anybody know if..........

Weird that they'd have 3 different parts for 3 cars using the same engine and being built around the same time. It's not a different pump rating for a heavier car, either because it looks like they've installed the 3 series one in our DSEs. Either way, there's a reason nobody has asked me to be...

    Does anybody know if..........

Ok..... I dimly remember once being told by my former mechanic that the power steering pump is rebuildable with a ZF rebuild kit which comes with seals that look like an obese TIE Fighter (didn't give me an actual part number but that description stuck). In fact I remember buying a kit and...

What tyres are you on there? HTs, ATs or MTs? If it were me going into that, I'd not chance it with HTs or ATs unless I had a buddy with another car and a winch handy.

Do you not anymore? Wow- that just goes to show how long I've been away! Oh well.. he has something showing on his windshield anyway. Could be some parking badge or security sticker or whatever..... not AS cool, but still cool!

What did you do with your Range Rover today

Yeah... try getting an Evoque to do THAT. Or a Velar. I like that way @Dopey has his road tax disc just barely visible on the windshield.

Ok... another helpful tip from you today! Can't do any harm and might save me a lot of money. I'll post the results on here once I have it fitted, or not, as the case may be.

    P38A Fatal??

That's impressive. They're almost like service parts out here. Even the Land Rover originals are good for maybe 4, 5 years before they get iffy. The Sh!tpart one I had barely made it a year. Let's see how this Impergom one does. With the shipping and import charges I got hit for on this one I'll...
