Not yet Uncle Mark..... :D I've been moving house- and getting a good ole dose of the Christmas spirit! This weekend, for sure!

Yes it does, actually.... now where have I experienced that before? Hmmmm......

Thanks man..... that's 1 owner from new. My dad bought it, brought mum and me home from hospital in it when I was born.... and then passed it to me when he figured he didn't have the energy or patience to restore it. That's the only car I have that I won't sell..... even the P38 will go before...

Oh yeah...... this was back in the glory days. I can't be sure now but I think this was the place we used to bring people who used the words "Chelsea Tractor" within earshot....... If I liked the victim, I'd bring a snatch strap along and if I didn't, I wouldn't. It's not what you'd call...

Ah nuts. That's what I was afraid of. Must be a Greta Thunberg thing. I hate these disposable modern cars which are ready for recycling long before the owner's done with them. I'm taking a long hard look at a v50 T5 and if there's issues with them then I guess I better take a long hard look at...

Found this old pic of mine...... yes there's a little of the dramatic angle shot going on but it's tough having to stop the car, get out, take the pic, get back in and keep going so you'll excuse me for that.

I've got a 1967 Volvo 122S estate. Still solid, a tiny bit of rust, some cracked plastics but otherwise doing just fine. Less downtime than my P38. I'm contemplating an early 2000s V50 or V40 and I'm wondering if the boys still count those as an old school Volvo or a new one. Still Swedish, not...

Wonder if the old trick of letting the air out of the tyres to make them go half squishy would have helped...... or if it could even be tried with those thin tyres.

    They can get stuck

Whoops! Winch and land anchor could have saved it, maybe?

You'd get a ticket for that if you did it here.

Merry Xmas & a much happier new year to you all from me.

Merry Christmas from Malaysia, all. It's Christmas here already! You lot have to wait another 6 hours. :D

The LEDS in the HEVAC control unit are only for the amber bits inside the buttons which glow when you press them. Everything else is a bulb wearing a green condom EXCEPT for the LCD display backlight which is just a single bulb, with no condom. LOOKING at it I can understand why. As you say...

Will definitely check this. The car has never been run dry but I guess anything's possible since it's been largely standing for the better part of a year now.

Thanks buddy! I'll check for the MAF (never had to before) but I do remember the glowplug light coming on, on the dash even when the engine is warm VERY occasionally. Like maybe 5% of the time. These readings were taken with the engine at normal operating temperature, easily 30 minutes after...

Mine's a 1997 so I'm not sure if that's early or late. I don't have the tools to do the static timing adjustment so I was kind of hoping to use my Faultmate's "Timing Modulation" reading to get me where I need to be. Unfortuantely I can't seem to find the value to shoot for. Heh.

Condoms on mine. Definitely condoms. Baked on, over the years, too!

L322 couldnt resist it..HGV driver beats Land Rover's designers to making a cabrio

Well it's a Freelander. It's not trying to pretend to be anything else. Actually I wouldn't mind one of those at all. Up until recently I had a 2016 Subaru Forester which I think is a car in very much the same mould as the Freelander and it turned out to be surprisingly useful- and capable...

Uhm fellas..... A little spoonfeeding please. I'm pretty sure my car has developed the hot start problem. Ever since the engine swap, it's been easier to start cold than hot, but it's never been uncomfortably difficult to start hot- until today. Today it took a HECK of a lot of cranking to get...
