    L322 Front suspension knock.

Thanks chaps. It does sound like a knocking ball-joint but even with it jacked up I can't detect any play when levering them. As Saint says, maybe the geometry is stopping the movement showing up. It's definitely the bush in the first photograph that Holidaychicken put up that is knackered on...

    L322 Front suspension knock.

We bought a 2005 L322 back in February and shorty after we got it I noticed a slight knock from the front suspension. It has been off the road with gearbox issues for 2 months (I know, almost unheard of on one of these!) and driving it again over the past couple of weeks the knock seems to have...

we want a l322 , but had a p38 in the past and it was a nightmare. advice please

The early L322s are basically an X5 with a Range Rover body. BMW owned Range Rover up until 2005 when Jaguar took over. So if your are looking at a 2004 LPG L322 and your LPG X5 was reliable......

Freelander 2 (LR2) Dash failure when braking.

My daughter and her fiancée have a 2010 Freelander TD4. On Saturday it started to flash up loads of warning lights and the dash would occasionally loose power completely, with the instruments shutting down. I put a code reader on it and got a number of low voltage codes, as well as a few...

    L322 Trans. fail safe prog.

A quick update on this one. Despite an arson attack on the gearbox company's premises (fortunately our 'box was in another workshop) and the owners house, they did get the gearbox reassembled and back to Keith Gott Landrover. They re-fitted it and we got the car back just over two weeks ago. All...

L322 RR Vogue Mk3 to buy or not to buy? Trans failsafe problem

That rule only applies to petrol engine cars, my 320d was a 2003 model. Diesels are just tested for excessive smoke.

L322 RR Vogue Mk3 to buy or not to buy? Trans failsafe problem

Has anyone fitted a de-cat pipe to the TD6? I did this on a BMW 320d and it made quite a difference to it, not necessarily a lot more power but the turbo seemed to spool up quicker and at lower revs. Stainless ones are available on E-bay for £99-00.

L322 Vibration through the seats at 55-60

I guess that you have done the rear prop. What is the front one like? Had a vibration on a TD5 Discovery that was caused by a failed double Cardan joint on the front prop.

L322 RR Vogue Mk3 to buy or not to buy? Trans failsafe problem

Yes, I wouldn't risk one myself. It is a shame that the 'box is so weak, as, if the re-map figures quoted are to be believed, the engine can produce a great deal more power.

    L322 Prop shaft Fabrication

I have not used them myself and have no intention of 'associating' with them. I mentioned them because they have been around for years, trading as Reco-prop, and lots of people in classic and modified car circles seem to use them. I replied in your other thread because they listed the parts...

L322 RR Vogue Mk3 to buy or not to buy? Trans failsafe problem

Those costs sound about right to me. I have just sent my valve block to Valve Bodies UK (as recommended by Bemble) to have it overhauled and fitted with the improved Sonnax valves. Total cost was £275 including collection and posting back, and VAT. According to the guy at the transmission...

Absolutely! However, it's just as well he pointed out that google website, thingy, because none of us would have known about it, unless he had enlightened us.

    L322 Trans. fail safe prog.

Latest update. The gearbox reconditioners stripped the gearbox and found that a seal had a nick out of it, which had caused the lack of pressure. They have sent the torque converter away to be checked, although it was replaced 3500 miles ago. The valve block was collected by Valve Bodies UK...

    L322 Trans. fail safe prog.

Keith Gott Landrover have now examined the Range Rover. They found the oil level and condition to be satisfactory. The control module has logged the fault code 'Gear Monitor 4 Fault' and they have concluded that the vehicles has "an internal transmission fault". This is consistent with the RAC...

L322 Vibration through the seats at 55-60

Check the prop-shaft joints and rubber couplings (if there are any on the L322). Any wear/movement in these will cause a vibration at certain speeds.
