same as mine 53plate td4 facelift model touch wood no probs and i tow a 1500kg caravan .

Mines exactly the same ,it;s been like it the two and half years i;ve had it ,i just got use to it ,as they say if it aint broke dont fix it .

one thing to remember is we have had a lot more rain and high winds just lately, and its possible its been driven in where as under normal conditions it probably wouldnt .

i run my td4 on shell v max all the time ,then one time whilst on holiday had to use supermarket special , the difference was incredible it was noisier less power, less smooth , v max imo is better but you need a couple of tankfulls to get the full benefits .

i have a bluespark cr tech multi map box on mine and what a difference, it is set as it leaves them on setting 2 about 130 bhp it can go down for economy or up 3 settings to max power and torque ,but i find where its set it is quick and has plenty of grunt low down for towing my caravan Trev

Hi there i recently had a very similar problem, had my battery checked on two different testers one was a snap on and the other was 400quid top quality one and they both said good battery,but one day it would start the next it would;nt ,then one day i got a funny smell in the car stopped opened...

my fbh has ceased to work after wading through a river aprox 400mm deep fuse seems to be ok as its engine management as well and no probs there ,any help, ideas, greatfully accepted . regards trev

i use 5/30 fully syn as this protects as soon as the engine starts, 10/40 semi does not , if engine has been on fully from new like mine has then i would continue to use it ,if you:ve been using semi then you may as well stick to it.

Hi there mine has blue spoke if you hold the throttle at around 2000rpm also feels like a slight misfire but i dont notice it when i;m driving it , been told its an injector playing up, but untill it gets worse i will leave well alone as it goes like a train regularly towing 1500 kgs, after all...

Hi, a mate of mine used to have problems somtimes he would turn the key and nothing and others it started first time turned out to be a loose connection on the starter motor , could be just a coincidence that it started when you renewed fob battery worth a look . Trev

The outer rubber on mine has just started to go, ok at moment but will need doing in not to distant future, was quoted 90 +vat for gkn which it says on the ones on car and they have been there since day one thats 80000 miles.

wish you all the best with your navara ,my mate has one and not long ago the engine blew sending bits everywhere apparently this can be common, he replaced the engine with an up rated one cost 3500 quid but now its a good motor .

you will find its cheaper to repair a freelander than anything japanese and all the best 4x4 have a green oval no matter which model .
