Havent checked but it certainly was when reassembled after matrix replacement..I will check again. Can I ask why that would make a noise when the heaters fire up?

Thank you for taking the time to respond and in such great detail. I have ordered a relay kit via the bay with the modified resistor to speed up the slow setting hopefully this will rectify the gremlins and have the cabin fairies ( my lasses) all nice and toastie again. Should I be worried...

For further info the By Pass of the fan control switch is successful when joining black with 2nd stage green purple wire but not when joining with black with 1st stage green yellow?

Update Have had another go at the bypass of the switch and this time the fans came into life without blowing the fuse. (Must have had a poor connection or bad test wire previously) So now Disconnect the relay/motor wires and the fuse doesn’t blow when switched on (No Fan obviously) Bypass...

So...it all turned out to be crappy hazard switches after all. I eventually but the bullet and sent it to the local Landy whisperer. 4x different switches including new Lucas OEM units and they were all utter crap! He made one good switch with the parts of all the others and all was well...

Should’ve updated sooner. Always frustrating when searching threads for advice only to find no conclusion. I used Dishwasher tablets to flush the system...cheap as chips and very effective

Appreciate the walkthrough...I have 2x multimeters for some reason. Both digital but neither with a beep. Really am annoyed as I was so pleased to get the indicators working following the previous hazard switch fault. Whatever I have done I now have a problem with them too!...so frustrating...

Have given up for today... it’s really done my head in. There seems to be one communal ground point with 2x black wires leading to the rear loom wires right next to where the loom comes into the truck. Apart from that grounding which appears ok I can’t see where else to check

Update...several flushes and a new stat and the cooling system is now clean as a fax doorstep challenge. Seems the seller was throwing a straight hand. Have since also replace the heater matrix & now have a 200tdi that actually blows warm (ish) air
