.. bought a gearbox now what?!

I will thank you! Was hoping to just swop them off my old box as I'm switching gearbox's didn't know I'd need them to check the box first and don't want to fit this new gearbox till I know it's ok. (Hope that makes sense!)

So the other parts in the picture above are on the other side of the housing? I.e I carnt see them yet? And so my missing cog goes against the high or low transfer gear wheel? Sorry for all the questions!

Is this the bits I'm missing? Will they be the same on my 2a box or are they specifically series 3 only. Without them I carnt move the box through the gears to test

I presume that without the output gear I carnt select gears? Just drained the gearbox oil, looked ok and no chunks of metal fell out. The transfer box was different.... Looked like black jam! The drain plug was very, very tight, I'm hoping that it stopped the previous owner changing the oil...

.. bought a gearbox now what?!

Hi... So I've bought a gearbox, how do I know it's ok to put straight in? I'm told it's a series 3. It's replacing a 2a box that is fitted to my supposed series 3 landy. It had an overdrive fitted ( gone before I bought it) so I'm guessing it's missing some bits? I'm also told it's good to go...

Can you make a 2a box all syncro?

I won't mind taking it apart to have a look inside but to be honest would prefer to just swop one over

Can you make a 2a box all syncro?

Thanks James sounds like a lot of work, will probably be easier for me to get a working series 3 gearbox. Anyone got one?

Can you make a 2a box all syncro?

Hi all need to either re build my gearbox, or buy something better. My Landy should be a series 3 box, but it isn't, so would prefer to have an all syncro box. Can the internals of mine be changed (simply) to make it all syncro? Or should I just get a series 3 box Cheers

Tracking down my old series, tips required...

Put up the reg number here! There's a few landys about Google the reg, something may pop up. See if it's still insured. Ask DVLA for a list of owners. Find your old friend and find out who he sold it to and where it went
