Ok so before I rip the box out what checks can I do on the ecu's if any?

Ok thanks ill wait and see if someone knows for sure as there is a lot more choice for the 4.0 not many auto box's about for the diesel.

Is the 4hp-22 box from the 4.0 compatible with my 2.5 diesel? Am I right they are both 4hp-22 box's?

I've put power to the transfer box motor and it works. It also goes into low range with the gear stick so the motor is working. If I put the fuse in the motor makes no noise just the transfer neutral on dash. But I've taken the fuse out now. It feels like it's trying to pull away in 4th. The...

It still drives with the fuse in but says transfer neutral on dash. I just took it for a drive and it does move but it's very sluggish stuck in one gear like limp mode.

I have a feeling it's been towed as the transfer neutral fuse was in when I bought it but it didn't go into neutral. I can still get it to move if I put the transfer neutral fuse in. So who ever towed it probably didn't realise it didn't put the transfer box in neutral. Thanks for your help.

I can't go forwards, reverse appears to work. It shows on dash what gear is selected. Checked gearbox oil all ok fitted another xyz switch. I just read something about a neutral fuse than can blow and cause auto transmission problems but I think they were talking about lhd vehicles.

Hi is there any fuses under the passengers seat on a right hand drive 2.5 diesel auto. I believe there's a fuse for neutral on the gearbox not the transfer box. I want to see if it is blown. Thanks

Hi how can I clear fault codes from a 1997 2.5dse auto box? Is therea anyone around or near the Cambridge area with scanner that will work. I have a snap on one cost a fortune but can't read the auto box.

Yeah I've heard there a pain to fit. I don't think this one was fitted correctly. Is there a guide on how to fit it?

Ok I took my xyz switch off and it looks like this so it's most likely knackered.

Ok thanks so the fuse should not be in. I put it in neutral but the lights just keep flashing around the gear selector. I'll try it when I can start the engine. Thanks for your help

Ok well that may explain why I have no drive. I only just bought it. If I take the fuse out it just says select neutral on dash and all the numbers and letters flash around the gear stick surround. I can't start the engine at the minute as I'm doing the timing chains.
