    Series 3 109 1/2 chassis !

Ok I think the spring hangers are different as well When I did the rear chassis on my 109 the 1/4 chassis was enough but I still had to replace the front spring hangers as well as some lower middle chassis sections

    Series 3 engine swap advice

What's wrong with the 2.25 diesel? I would not start fitting other engines as you will lose the series experience My diesel is not bad on fuel for a old classic and is plenty fast enough with the write diff's and a pump tweek
  11. Chopz

Series 3 Diesel vacuum pump question

One sucks for the servo and the other is the exhaust That same vacuum pump used to be fitted to fords with the old Peugeot engine

    The new defender!

This is in no way a replacement for the defender What a load of s**t

    Peterborough LRO

Off road coarse was crap and expensive, didn't bother with the show as it's always the same and expensive
  14. Chopz

    Big Tyres

7.50 16 looks best on a series and no loss of steering lock Any bigger I thinks has more disadvantages and is a waste of time My 88 is 2.25 diesel and I turned the pump up and now it's got plenty of power
  15. Chopz

    Spare tyre side mounting

Spare wheel on the roof. I don't like it on the bonnet and rear door is still a pain even with a swing away but roof mounting works well. Getting it down is easy but best to have 2 to lift it on to the roof.
  16. Chopz

    Series 3 Quicker Steering.

    Smaller steering wheel obviously

Series 3 Gearbox, Overdrive and Useability

What I did to my 88 and 109 was fit early defender or Range Rover diff's (109) salisbury out of defender Diff's can be picked up for as little as £20 Both are 2.25 diesel with 7.50 16 tyres and the gearing is not a problem now.
  18. Chopz

    Wanted 2.25 diesel engine

Yep I aqree 3mb it should be I would pull one apart before putting it in Most will be worn out and new parts are so cheap for the 2.25

Everyone knows hybrid land rovers are being built, that's the great thing about old land rovers you can build it yourself. It's not being done for any reason apart from building something you want Noone is interested in the pieces of Land Rover bolted together apart from some people As for road...

    Wanted 2.25 diesel engine

Most people fit a tdi because the old engine was slow and smokey But that's just the way they are
