Which Fault did your Range Rover Throw at you Today?

Noisy OS wheel bearing - been there ever since I've had it, sometimes more pronounced than others, but can't work out if it's front or rear, need to borrow another jack or axle stands to get both wheels off the ground to hopefully identify it. Doesn't seem to be getting any worse but got a...

    Replacing shock absorbers (dampers)

I know - I had this mental image of a wise, Merlin-type sage, living a bucolic existence in rural France, dispensing pearls of wisdom from his vast fund of knowledge and experience . . . What image do we replace it with??? A

    Replacing shock absorbers (dampers)

Err yes, nearly as much as your avatar (which, I'm guessing is not actually you), not quite as white though, and not as thin on the top, not as long as it was in the 60s and 70's, but I still cut it every year whether it needs it or not. :)

    Rebuilt Thor engine from Emmotts

By the way I meant haggle on the write-off value, not just a buyback price. Years ago a daughter wrote off her Clio and was offered £500, we argued and showed comparable cars and eventually got £850.

    Rebuilt Thor engine from Emmotts

+1. or even the second or third - Haggle! Get supporting evidence of current prices/comparable conditions/money spent on it, etc from Autotrader/thebay/pistonheads etc. Then get it back (they may even just give it to you ;) - depends on the ins co) and break it. Good luck. A

    A third hole!

This started me thinking, some people name their cars (not something I've ever done) - usually female names - although one of my daughters always calls her cars male names. If any RR owners will admit to naming them, what are the names? Is there a Roland, a Doris, a Walter, Brian, Petula...

    A third hole!

At the risk of setting Tomcat59alan off (just realised he's on holiday - so safe), as there's a 'third hole' - are all Range Rovers female - like ships? A

    Air Suspension timing

I did get it working properly :) - it was a useful diagnostic tool that identified the faulty delay timer while I was waiting for my nanocom to arrive, replaced the timer and it's all worked as it should ever since. :) A

    Air Suspension timing

There's a long thread on RR.net about disabling the delay timer by replacing it with a standard relay - I discovered this by accident about 18 months ago. Thread here:-Disabling EAS levelling, the easy way - Alastair
