Classic LSE cutting out at idle...

You can unbolt the AIV spigot from the back of the plenum, 3 M6 (I think) cap bolts, and you should be able to dig the remans out of the threads. Good luck

    Classic Body Removal

Adam - I don't know if you've seen this:- http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=1051574 I found it a couple of years back when I was looking at rebuilding my LSE, and your CSK rebuild reminded me of it, took me a while to find it, but hopefully it may be useful/interesting. I'll be...

P38A ONE LESS P38 IN THE WORLD

A bit weird this, doesn't look like the airbags activated, and seems to be enough room to get the drivers door open to extract a coughing person. I would guess - given the position of the impact that the battery was smashed, so no power for the tailgate catches. Or, maybe one of the emergency...

For the moment, I will not be on LZ.

    Don't think so - I think he's in a huff, he's been posting on rangerovers.net.

Buying RRC... Things to look for

All the above mentioned, plus look at the bottom of the rear doors where the extra 10" were welded into the standard inner doors for the extra length. The only LSE specific parts I can remember are roof panel (and liner) rear doors, exhaust downpipe/cats, rear propshaft, rear carpet and the...

    Aircon

Yes they can - but finding them (new) is next to impossible. I couldn't find a part No for them anywhere and neither could Autocool. I struck lucky that one of the Autocool techs had one in his 'bit box'. Later ones have a different thread size. I think most people replace the pipes complete...

    Aircon

If you mean the service port valves -ie the ones they connect the charging machine to - then you may have a problem. I had the same thing, and by chance managed to get a replacement valve, (thread here http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/f10/aircon-leak-servicing-connection-189661-2.html - gives the...

    Just a quick one . . .

Thanks jacckk - that's interesting. I tried it on position 2 , (doors & tailgate closed) ran the pump for 5 mins, then pressed send to high, the bar went across showing 'working', but no movement. I'll try again later today and maybe try running the pump longer and just opening 1 valve to start...

    Just a quick one . . .

Yes, both were tight, the top very tight. I've never had any starting issues other than a dirty earth strap connection over a year ago - easily solved with a clean and tighten. Torque is 33ft/lbs. This was sudden, no warning at all, just made a horrible graunching noise on the first turn of the...

    Just a quick one . . .

Well it certainly wasn't a quick one . . . I finally got time to make a serious effort to get the starter off today, having tried a couple of times during the week to get it to lift with the nanocom. I have discovered 3 things:- 1) Nanocom has to have the engine running to lift the car. :(...

    Just a quick one . . .

Does anyone know if I can raise the EAS with the nanocom without the engine running - my starter has seemingly self-destructed and won't turn it over, it would be much easier to remove if I can use the eas to lift the car (before blocking it) rather than buggering about with the jack . . . TIA...

    Re-skinning a bumper . . .

Thanks for the info gents, unfortunately this has now taken a back seat as the starter has suddenly, with no previous warning whatsoever, begun making horrible noises and won't turn it over, knackered bendix or -God forbid - :eek:flywheel ring gear . . . Investigating this morning. Alastair

    Re-skinning a bumper . . .

One of the inboard brackets on my colour-coded rear bumper has completely dissolved away, and I suspect that the other will self destruct when I try to remove it. I've found a good replacement nearby, but its the matt plastic generic type. - on examining it , the skin seems to be held on the...
