Your needle bouncing is probably due to the angle drive on the back of the speedo. They can fail.

Hi guys, I've got an issue with my speedo on my 3.9 V8 D1. It has started to intermittently drop to zero, especially when it reads around 60 mph it'll just drop. Sometimes it bounces on the way down other times it falls like a stone. I could return to the car within hours and it'll pick up...

All fixed, turns out my RRC seat was needing some lubrication and I got the mechanisms to move, so now have a correct height seat. Thanks for the input. Feels like an idiot :-)

I think the difference in height is due to the RRC pitch and tilt mechanisms that the Discovery doesn't have. Thanks for the input.

This is the RRC seat on the driver's side of the Discovery. Too high, but bolt pattern is identical.

These are the new RRC seats. Runner fixing points are identical to that of the Discovery. But seat sits so much higher. Discool, where would I unbolt to remove these so I can refit with disco mechanisms.
