Just trial fitted a replacement driver's seat, a tidy cloth example, it came I believe from an RRC it has the same style runners as the Discovery where the rear fixing bolts (big star headed) are bolted through the rails which bends at 90° and the front 2 are the existing 10mm.

Problem I have is it now sits A LOT higher up than the original D1 seat. I can't get my knees under the wheel and my head is pushing against the roof.

What have I done wrong? Or what do I need to do to lower the seat back to a more reasonable position.

Thanks in advance.

Possibly reuse the disco undercarriage with the seat part of the RR if I remember correctly that part is no thicker the the disco's.
Or are you using a electric seat from a RR which has be left in its raised position.

Thanks for the reply, they are all manual seats. I'll swap the running gear at the weekend.

These are the new RRC seats. Runner fixing points are identical to that of the Discovery. But seat sits so much higher.
Discool, where would I unbolt to remove these so I can refit with disco mechanisms.

This is the RRC seat on the driver's side of the Discovery. Too high, but bolt pattern is identical.

Well I not familiar with the underneath of seats, but looking at your photo there appears to be two nut and bolts at the front holding the upholstery frame to the main fixing frame and what seems to be two rivets at the rear, so removing those fixing points the two items will part, but then may be not.
There must be some difference in the design of both seat mechanisms to give the hight difference you have found.

I think the difference in height is due to the RRC pitch and tilt mechanisms that the Discovery doesn't have.
Thanks for the input.

All fixed, turns out my RRC seat was needing some lubrication and I got the mechanisms to move, so now have a correct height seat.

Thanks for the input.

Feels like an idiot :)
