What Freelander Have You Got Poll (version 2)

Still got the Td4 but also have a Freelander 2 i6 HSE. The difference between them is the difference between having a pot noodle or a sirloin steak. Totally worlds apart. I now find the Td4 tedious to drive and wonder how I ever used it to drive hundreds of miles packed with holiday gear or...

    muddymods 25mm spacers

Really ? I've never had any problems like that. 30mm spacers, 50mm lift for the last 25.000 miles. Wheel bearings fine, suspect they're also the originals, now on 130,000 miles.

    Freelander 1 New Fueltank cradles

Not affiliated, just saw the ad in the latest LRO mag. MMP Land Rover are selling new fuel tank cradles at £80. Not genuine but look the same to me.

Freelander 1 Didn't think this was possible

It's a 2000 year car so yes they would fit. Very early V6's had the earlier brakes.

Freelander 1 Question for those with a soft top fitted....

Have you tried adjusting the dials on the inside of the hood ? IIRC they have 4 positions. This helps with the fit. At least it did on mine.

    Freelander 1 Mantec sill guards

One pair of Mantec sill guards. Had these powder coated in white . They were never fitted to a vehicle and are in brand new condition. No longer have the rivets or tube of mastic. Got lost some time ago. £50

Anyone going to the Billing Land Rover Fest July 29, 30 31?

What's the crack with paying on the day? I usually camp from the Thursday but was unsure whether I would have a vehicle this year so it's all last minute. Is there a separate queue for people paying on the day. Don't want to look like a numpty and be turned away in front of everyone else for...

    Freelander 1 Moving on...........

Blue V6 bottom pic. That was around 7 or eight years ago now, 2" lift and 205/80/16 Bronco diamondback tyres. Horrendous fuel economy further ruined by lugging those monsters around.

    Freelander 1 Moving on...........

Ok, so my Freelander 1 is up for sale after purchasing a Freelander 2 HSE. I don't visit here nearly as often as I used to and sadly I think my time on this forum is come to an end. I have loved being a part of the forum over the last few years and hope my contributions have been helpful or at...

Freelander 1 OZ Racing Superturismo WRC

Had OZ Grandtourismo on my V6. These were ex-Msport wheels.Currently being rallied by the race2recovery team. Bugger to keep clean and a bugger to balance. Made of Magnesium. Google M-Sport Freelander and you'll see what they are. Currently run OZ whels on my Td4 . Ex Mitsubishi Evo IV. Again a...

    Freelander 1 Improving v6 sound

Had a straight through ss exhaust fitted to my V6. It improved the sound but it was more raspy than throaty . Couldn't really notice from inside the car, but my other half said she knew when I was on my way to her and also had plenty of comments from people asking what was under the bonnet due...

    Upgraded front

I have 2 plug"n"play wiring looms to convert to the facelift. As they say, you just plug them in to the existing loom, no cutting of wires. One's a basic for headlights only - the other has extra wires and relays for spot lights...................

    Buying high mileage Freelander 2?

I'm currently looking at purchasing a Freelander 2 with 150,000 on the clock . It is an SE one owner and with full main dealer service history. And to say it is in showroom condition - well it's not far off. There is no wear anywhere - seats, gearstick, steering wheel, carpets all look like a...

What have you done to your Freelander today

Bought a brand new stereo years ago from Craddocks for £9.99 as it had a "surcharge item" sticker on it and they didn't know whether it was a returned faulty item or the new one as someone had opened the Land Rover box. Took a punt on it and turns out it was the brand new one. Been in the spare...

    Insurance renewal time. Bugger.

I'd like to say it comes down to the modifications. Full interior rollcage, FIA bucket seats and harnesses, Momo steering wheel so no airbags, suspension lift, full size intercooler, wheel spacers etc etc..............So when an insurance company who claims to be "modified vehicle specialists"...

    Insurance renewal time. Bugger.

So my insurance renewal has just come through from Adrian Flux. A little more than usual so I decided I'd try Sureterm Direct who are currently running a Modified Land Rover of the Year competition in conjunction with LRO magazine. So I decided to "Challenge Sureterm" as they're calling it...

Freelander 1 Monroe Shocks , which ones ??

The sad part is I never felt like this with my V6 even though it was built to the same spec. It's only recently too that I've been feeling like this. I think it may be because the last 2 holiday trips it's had problems. A wishbone ball joint making a cracking noise turning left and the most...

Freelander 1 Monroe Shocks , which ones ??

I don't think I'll bother now. I'll use it for my holiday at the end of next week and on my return it'll be sold. I've got my eye on a Freelander 2 now after just having driven one today. It's made me realize just how agricultural my Freelander feels with all the mods, cage, lift etc. Having no...

Freelander 1 Monroe Shocks , which ones ??

Thanks for clearing that up for me guys. I'll make a decision as to what I want to use depending on what my budget is when I return from holiday at the end of the month.

Freelander 1 Monroe Shocks , which ones ??

I can get a front pair of Monroe labelled as Td4 for £180. The same vendor is selling 1.8 and 2.0D Monroe for £100. So if they're the same I could save a fortune.
