    smoking is back

The engine's crankcase contains numerous gases, moisture as well as unburned fuel vapour. These vapours must be removed to prevent the oil becoming contaminated. Contaminated oil leads to sludge formation. The breather system removes these nasty things from the crankcase to prevent sludge...

    smoking is back

although it is true if the engine is breathing heavy it will blue smoke, (the only cause of blue smoke is oil, fuel is generally grey/white, air or lack of is black and water is white)what you are forgetting is that it only does on start up and has only started doing it since the cold weather...

    smoking is back

    smoking is back

blue ish smoke is oil, if its only started doing it when the cold weather arrived it may be a slightly worn bore and the cold weather has made the piston shrink that tiny bit more or possibly a valve stem seal. If it is a grey/white ish type smoke then it is more likely to be an injector/glow...

    Expansion Cap Blew off !!!

Its pretty shocking that they rev it for so long Im not really sure what benefit as regards an emissions test that will give as for the K series engine its actually a very strong engine its the position of the thermostat which is the problem, the best thing you could do is get a thermostat...

Would anybody be interested in a Freelander owners club?

well from the feedback I have got from people I think the general opinion is that people are happy enough on here with the forum etc but might like to meet up every now and then for camping and freelander chat or perhaps an off road weekend or something. That way then there should be no concerns...

    Sealing sunroof shut?

more than likely that the frame that the glass is bonded to has rotted away, if you remove the glass as described before then you can see it and maybe clean up the metal and give it a lick of paint then try removing the seal and coating it in vaseline and replace it all hopefully this will help...
