i think the plan is to get the engine out clean it all obviously do what I needed to do at the start with the engine mounts. Whatever else needs Doing then probably will end up buying a new or second hand gearbox to fit which hopefully shouldn’t be too much money and that should solve it all

the mounts are in the wrong place and baiscally we need to re weld mounts and put new rubbers in but that’s irrelevant really the problem I’m having is the gearbox the bell housing not lining up need to work out what’s best to do probably new gearbox

Hopefully you can see the photo someone sent me this ? Is that what you are on about with the engine mounts

by changing the engine mounts would that line up the bell housing or not ? I’ve got to sort my engine mounts out anyway as they aren’t holding my engine up anymore so if that’s an easier option to fix the bell housing to make it fit etc

Yea I’ve baiscally only had it since February and don’t really want to sell it but don’t want to be pumping silly money into it if that sort of makes sense. Obviously it’s a Land Rover they have there problems. Ideally I want to be keeping it. By the sounds of things the best option would be to...

Okay okay yea Thankyou for the help and advice I will have a look see what I can do. Just want to be able to fix it and not spend stupid money or have to sell it

Obviously if I bought the right one now circled in blue would now line up with the 300tdi engine but would red line up with what’s originally there?

Silly question probably, coukd I buy something like this for example if I found out which one I need what make and model. Then that should allow the 300tdi to line up with the bell housing as it’s now the right one. Sorry for the silly questions

I think that’s what my mate was saying I could do. If I was to replace the gearbox to make it fit the 300tdi engine or however it works which one would I need.

also just read that where your reverse is just means what type of gearbox you got for example if it’s up near 1st you have a lt77 so yea not sure just trying to work it out myself as it’s not safe to drive until they line up for bolts
