Fitted a CSI electronic distributor, new coil and ht leads. Dialled in a super advance curve and my 109 has never gone so well

Mine was like that when i stripped it. The main bearing was not pressed home against its shoulder. I put the shaft in the freezer for a day and popped the new bearing in a plastic bag and dropped it in a pan of boiling water. A big vice and a short piece of scaffold tube did the job.

Has anyone fitted a CSI electronic dizzy to their series. Was considering one and don't know if it is worth paying the premium price compared to chineseum items offered much cheaper.

I would temporarily disconnect the suction pipe from the lift pump and rig up a gravity feed direct to the fuel pump this will eliminate all of the fuel supply side from diagnosis

Fiited a pair of lovely old chrome horns along with relays. VERY VERY LOUD

not being freelander savvy but it suggests the slip ring/ rotary connector is faulty if the horn buttons are in the steering wheel

getting on with in frame engine work. A few more hours and will be ready to test

i put a 6mm one on my Defender from Dixon Fabrication. Not sure if defender one fits series but may be worth contacting Dixon as the quality and strength are both superb

Do any of you folks know the best place to buy a quality properly hardened rocker shaft for series 3 petrol engine?

I had same problems with dash lights and found the power was supplied ok when sidelight switch was on but the panel switch was duff. Replaced panel switch, still no lights. I ran new earths from both clocks to bolt on metal panel, hey presto lights worked and added bonus that all the warning...

yes the four hole one on early models and some diesels were flat joints so needed a gasket. The 3 hole type has a tapered hole in manifold and rounded end on pipe so if everything is perfect it will seal dry.
