Does anyone have a list of bearing numbers for the LT230 transfer box. I am looking for the bearing manufacturers part numbers not the Land Rover numbers.
There are plenty of videos on you tube. I followed one an MG owner had posted. Stripped mine completely, removed all the muck that had collected around front seals etc and repainted bezels. Managed to recalibrate it so it now looks ok and reads pretty much spot on
Rover 3.9 had 182 bhp and 230lb/ft. E type 4.2 had 261bhp and 283. I agree that V8 would be easier to fit but the engines as you say are chalk and cheese. If you have the skill set and access to a nice 4.2. GO FOR IT. Years ago I helped install a Jag into a Reliant Scimitar, the result...
never seen it but think a 4.2 with triple carbs would be superb. I often thought about a Jeep 4.0 litre straight six, there was a good posting in here somewhere about jeep transplant. i love the 4.0 pushrod lump. Easiest straight six would obviously be BMW

i think 7.50 16 look right. i found a lovely set of as new Michelin XZL on Defender rims which were removed from one of the las 110 utility Defenders. Painted them with limestone paint and i love the look and perfromance

Not sure if they will just offer engine/gearbox upgrades to five speed box and fuel injected engine
I found a second hand CSI one from an MGB on EBay. It has a choice of 16 advance curves pre-programmed. I selected the best one for a standard 2 1/4 after fitting Lucas gold coil and new trick ht leads, it now runs so sweetly and revs much better.
custom exhaust downpipe with a small vortex silencer will go on my td5 when the one fitted gives up. You could always put several turns of exhaust bandage round the new de-cat pipe where the cat would be;)
