    Is this a warning?

Thanks for that Thinking along the lines of wot you say the batteries did get a good rub round in their fobs at the time and it all looks ok inside them from wot I could see with a magnifying glass. To be honest it wasn’t a range issue and my range hasn’t been getting worse or anything, it just...

    Is this a warning?

Hi all The other night I went out to my disco (‘98MY Brit spec - no spider) and the key fob worked fine, then I went back a bit later and the fob wouldn’t work at all. I got the spare out and it worked fine so I swapped batteries (both batteries about 1 year old) and both fobs worked so I...

Disco 1 tracking/alignment with adjustable back arms

Yeah, or it had the rear wheel steer before when the measurements were out but it was set up to compensate for it and now it’s rite but needs setting up to be rite. I’m sure if it drove well before then it can drive at least as well now, and yes if all else fails il put it back as it was but was...

Disco 1 tracking/alignment with adjustable back arms

Hi I agree the arms should be the same, and they should be able to be the same. The arms are made for more flex and strength not to be adjustable it’s just a by-product of how they are made, I would of thought having the wheelbase the same on both sides was better than it been half an inch out...

Disco 1 tracking/alignment with adjustable back arms

hi all You might guess that I’ve got some adjustable rear arms on my disco A couple of weeks ago I did my tracking with some Dunlop gauges then centred the steering wheel which happily resulted in the steering box being centred as well which I know isn’t always the case, anyway it drove well...

    Another problem after castor correction

Thanks for replies To be honest I didnt really notice forward lean of the spring seat as standard (but I do take your word for it :))and I didn’t measure hub centres before or after fitting these arms mainly because I didn’t expect any of this going on to be honest but these arms are 10mm...

    Another problem after castor correction

Hi all OK so a 2" spring lift but with standard arms bows the springs out towards the front cos of the spring seat angle, then 3 degree castor correction arms put this rite...so does anyone else thinks these look like 6 degree arms on my 2" lift which is why the springs are bowed backwards...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Wiped off the Dunlop gauges and adjusted tracking, took a bit of slack out of the steering box and nipped the steering damper nut up a bit...she doesn’t act like a bucking bronco now when I drive near the side of the road, which is nice!

    Another problem after castor correction

Thanks for all the replies Problem is what feels like front prop phasing being very very wrong at about 20-30mph and a sort of odd resination/vibration on over run at about 60-70mph, I’ve driven with front prop off a few times now and all is well when it’s off. The harder I’m on the throttle at...

    Another problem after castor correction

hi all I’ve put posts up before about what seem like problems with my castor correction arms I fitted after a 2” lift on my 98 300 d1 but this one is to ask if anyone knows why I can’t sort the front prop phasing now the new arms are on? For a start I thought that the castor was put back rite...

RESURRECTION TIME Is there a landy sparky on here??? I've been living with disco as it was, and managed to find a mfu yesterday and fitted it...and...no different surprise surprise. Hi James sorry to bother you I’m trying to phase a prop. 1) if I’ve put the castor rite after a lift should I still need to rephase my prop, 2) I’ve been 4 settings each way from the standard Land Rover phasing and still no joy at all, so do you think there is any point carrying on or do you...

    Propshaft vibration

I did this a few years ago, I was lucky enough to find a prop in a scrap yard for about a tenner tho so I bought a flange kit for 20 odd quid with no spacer and a non genuine seal. Mine has been fine without a prop spacer but the seal leaked like a sieve after about a week so I put a corteco...

Odd one about front arms/severe shaking

Hi, we did that before fitting and I think, if memory serves, there was 10mm difference in front faces and 13 in shaft length where the bushes sit. 3 turns is roughly 10mm and I think another 5mm and the nyloc will be off the end of the thread and definatly need pinning but this will be tried...

Odd one about front arms/severe shaking

Update for anyone curious So I’ve backed the 30mm nuts off 3 turns and it feels better, if anything a little sloppy so maybe 2 turns would of done but there’s less vibration than there was. I’m thinking play about till it’s rite then make some spacers up so there is something for the bushes to...
