Don't worry is my advice. Mine also displays f4 occasionally. I've owned my FL from new and it's a 2004. Simply turning off key and turning on again gets rid of it. Garage looked at it when under warranty and said it wasn't a recognised code! As it was rare and intermittent it never done it...

Turns out the prop bearing mounts were bent from the rock running under the car. As I have to take off prop and wait for parts anyway, I will order a VCU to fit at same time seeing as I've done 60k miles. It's common knowledge the VCU is virtually a serviceable part @ 70k miles anyway!

Has the problem gone now? I too am in NZ and my td4 (2004) has also developed a deep rumbling/vibration noise when cornering at lower speeds! Hope its not because there not used to being 'upside down' :) I have only recently got my car back after the garage had it for 35days while waiting...

Mine went back under warranty at least 4 times for the very same problem. Rattle Still there despite it being completely removed and re-fitted last time(alledgedly). Have to just accept the fact that its 'character'. It seems to be worse once the thing is used at beginning of warmer weather...

If your locking fob doesnt operate- (too far away/wrong angle/obstructions) try holding it on your nose while pressing button. (main lr dealer salesman told me this- thought he was pulling my plonker but amazingly does work

I fitted power box from rimmers on my td4 auto about 18months ago. Very pleased with results - more torque, gearbox doesnt hunt for higher / lower gears, improved economy (approx32mpg). Not had improvements measured or verified but feeling is that claims are about right. Other boxes mentioned...

If you have a fbh and are fed up with poor fuel economy in winter, - leave heeater setting on cold when leaving car - it wont fire up and prime itself when you park up. If you run out of screen wash fluid try a long left hander while pulling screen wash lever - hey presto another 2 gallons...
