I am looking at ashcroft and like it, but its the fitting I see costing more than the parts (ashcroft charge the same as four nice tyres and wheels just to fit) and was looking at new tyres / wheels anyway, but do recognise ashcroft is way to go (also makes it quieter apparently as well...)

Any mathematicians / number crunchers / rubber fetishists know / can easily work out what tyre size equivalent would be needed to take a 110 tdi 300 with 265/75/16 tyres at present to the same ratio as doing the disco ratio upgrade that ashcroft offer... and that would fit without it looking...

yup, hopefully he will, but hopefully he will improve the product, (rant alert) as at the moment if I want new doors I have to chose: -all steel ****e made of mild steel that is heavy, will rust, can be bent at top to steal my landy like taking candy from a baby, and stolen by undoing hinge...

hmm, I have a 300 tdi with really heavy clutch. I mean, like a long drive hurts more than a long run or bike ride, which cannot be right! Also it jumps in first when hot maybe new clutch will help? I have a brass coloured double spring which looks similar to this...

hahahaha - I think you would need to twin that with an F1 style diffuser built into rear cross member for a propper job ;)

Do you use rust convert on alloy as well or just steel? any preferred rust converter?

I am reviving this thread as carbon fibre doors and dashboard would be my preference. A consideration not mentioned so far is sound damping and security, which for the doors would be as much as an advantage if not more, than them not rotting, as they should not drum vibrate like metal ones, and...

It sounds way better than the, for then good one it replaces, and is loud enough until you start the engine ;) Driving around you have to crank it from 18 to about 40. May fit a small amp and rear speakers, upgrde existing if same size and worth it, will update if so. Did a bumpy road bounce...

Just in case anybody has been looking at the new Alpine that has a built in phone holder, that was launched last week, as an alternative to the pricey single din 7” screen affairs, I pulled the trigger and installed this morning and fits pretty well in 300 tdi dash, see pics. its almost like...
