Don't mate wiring so brittle :D

Yeah I need to check if they are wrong way round. Only plays up when I change up a gear I suppose if sensor or wiring is wrong will not send enough fuel. If wiring is correct then sensor must be knakered. I need to swap the crimps for solder joints

Not touched that wiring to the socket. I repaired the wiring on the injector. Attached is old injector. I assume this is the correct path of pin 1 to LHS of injector and pin 2 to RHS of injector? If so then I need to check one in the engine wiring has been repaired right way round.

Thanks only issue is both the cables are white on my wiring unless there is black and yellow under this the sheath. No writing on the cables either.

Thanks mate, I am not sure about the polarity either, wouldn't think it would matter, I will solder the joints first see if that improves it. In my opinion I find it annoying that the sensor and all cannot be replaced and if that is knakered, got to buy a new injector, I guess they were built...

Thanks mate the ohms reading I took was on the resistance setting. I got a continuity setting will try that aswell just to be sure;)

If you could check the reading on your spare would appreciate that? Yeah that's a fair point will do that we did it as quick fix get it going. I am bit concerned on where it is soldered onto the sensor looks like they might need re-soldering? But hard to tell without taking the injector out.

Just attached photo of wiring can see the repairs I done, the connections at the sensor look bit suspect but not damaged, if they were would if affect the continuity?

Just checked and on resistance and got constant ready of 94 ohms? Is this a correct reading?

As I am a retard with electrics, positive on the needle body and negative on an earth/chassis? Should be seeing even 5 volts when moving cables?

@wammers can you advise me how to check the sensor with a meter please? thanks,

ok mate cheers, will have a look and report back.

    P38A Diesel Injector No.4

That will be the next step as both cables were damaged and re-wired them, got a quote from Diesel Bob for £142 for new injector. It is intermittent so could be cable is damaged internally. For the meter, positive on wiring and negative on the body?

Just had a look on Europarts. £200 for a Lucas one? Is dependent on £80 surcharge until old one is sent back. Bosch one is £350 not got money for that

Hi, Engine is running fine but when drive it and change up I lose power and injector light flashes. Diagnostic brings up same fault. Lift needle sensor. Annoyed as bought this 2nd hand one of Ebay back in October and only fitted it this year (this was prior to me changing chains etc). So...

    P38A Fog Light Unit

Hi, A very stupid question but here goes, noticed my LHS fog lamp unit is filled with water, pulled bottom hose, emptied, put back on, filled again over time. Bit more than condensation I say. There is a top and bottom hose, just wanted to ask how what these two hoses do and where the water...
