One for all those Veggies out there

    Defender Towing Mirrors

Standard Defender mirrors tend to be pretty bad for blindspots (if you have rear windows its not so bad, but with panelled sides its not great) haven't used mine for towing yet though.

    Defender Towing Mirrors

As far as I was aware the standard Defender mirrors are intended for towing hence the 2 predominant positions on the arms. Close in for normal driving and pushed out (as said above to 90degs) for towing. Blind spots on the other hand...

Cleaning up trailing arm bush housing

Trying to push in some new polybushes (Bearmach) into my rear trailing arms (were rubber bushes before) and they just don't want to go. Currently I'm using a length of M12 threaded rod, some washers and M12 nuts to push them in. This method worked fine on when I did the radius arms. Looking at...

    White Smoke Worries

How much smoke typically? Like a bit a puff of smoke or something on par with the election of a new pope?

    White Smoke Worries

What does it smell like? Could be timing or fuel injectors need a clean.

    Daytime running lights

Isn't the point of sidelights to indicate the width of the vehicle to begin with, and not actually illuminate anything (like you would use dipped headlights for? Doesn't this then make DRLs pretty redundant? Personally, I tend to chuck my side lights on anyway.

    ls there any way

This the roof gutters are just that little bit too short... one place it gets in is to track down the door and then comes in on the door hinge. Park on a slight incline nose facing down the slope and you'll see it quite well.

Disco 1 Front radius arms - how much play is acceptable? Pulsing motion to braking.

I see your innuendo, But that's a crescendo, And my post was diminuendo.

Disco 1 Front radius arms - how much play is acceptable? Pulsing motion to braking.

Your bushes are on their way out, once the centre tube separates from the rubber completely you'll run the risk of developing a death-wobble, be worth checking your panhard rod at the same time.

What have you done to your Landie today.

Discovered me roof leaks like a fooking sieve and not just the sunroof. Looks like its gong to be a roof off and on with some silicone seal in between job in the spring. Too damn wet to do it at the moment.

Tips on buying a defender 90

Pretty all 90s are projects to be honest, even ones that run, just due to age. Things you'll probably need to look at (as part of project - from my own experience with my 90): Chassis (especially the rear x-member) - you'll struggle to find one that hasn't been welded at some point. Bushes...

Hello and can any one help with a Landy noise

Check the diffs, same method as above with only one wheel of the ground at a time. You'll need the hand brake off and gear i neutral with difflock off, so make sure the wheels are chocked. May also be worth checking your half shafts as well (the rears are straight forward to get off, just undo...

What have you done to your Landie today.

Removed my trailing arms - gave my new nut splitters a whirl in the process and some more upside down hack sawing was needed for one of the bolts... Realised had forgotten to the chock the front wheels - going to be needing some ratchet straps for refitting  Swore a lot at the old bushes -...
