    Lumpy 10p TD5 - D90 (Copied from Defender Forum)

No response yet on the Defender Forum, so opening to a more specialist audience. My son's D90 TD5 has just developed a very lumpy tickover. Any attempt to drive it more than 10 yards and very lumpy graduates to really, really unpleasant and a slow limp back. It starts first time and sometimes...

    Lumpy 10p TD5 - D90

My son's D90 TD5 has just developed a very lumpy tickover. Any attempt to drive it more than 10 yards and very lumpy graduates to really, really unpleasant and a slow limp back. It starts first time and sometimes seems fine until you try to rev the engine at which point it goes back to a lumpy...

Sounds as though the receiver may be dead. It is positioned underneath the headlining by the rear sunroof (if you have one) and are a plug and play replacement. You can turn off the alarm using the EKA code (if you know it), but make sure you follow the procedure in the Owners Manual...

    RAVE stops loading...any computer gurus?

Tried that but just got the message "The document is encrypted by an unsupported document handler" Perhaps the fact that I am running RAVE from a mounted iso makes a difference. What I did not try was mounting the iso, copying the PDFs to the hard drive and opening from there. Seems an...

No idea what you mean by "set" for the two exes. But what works is setting Compatibility to Win 95. However, if you use the Troubleshoot Compatibility option that is presented as a right click menu choice from the exe file it does not give Win 95 as an option, but only offers Vista, XP (SP2)...

Can range rover drive in snow?

I have driven an L322 TDV8 carefully on the road in packed snow and ice through to about a foot deep, and with the snow setting selected, it coped very well indeed and never put a wheel wrong even on quite steep slopes. Seriously deep off road snow would need much more aggressive tyres though.

Yes, using Foxit reader as Adobe claimed there was a connection problem and has refused to install.

Thanks, tried that for Win8/7/Vista and 98 - no change.

Thanks, once I'd turned off my VPN I was able to download the installer, but it will not install due to uninstallshield being present. Not found a way to turn that off yet.

    RAVE stops loading...any computer gurus?

Never played with a virtual machine before. I've downloaded Oracle VM VirtualBox and created a machine with the recommended 50GB of VHD storage. I guess I now need to install an operating system....? Hmm, I'm doing this on a laptop with a 250 GB SSD HD so allocating so much space to something...

    RAVE stops loading...any computer gurus?

I have been loading the RAVE manuals for a few years without any issues. But a couple of days ago they stopped loading. The iso mounts OK and opening the folder shows the rave.exe file. Normally double clicking on this brings up an Adobe Acrobat 4.0 splash screen that quickly transitions to...

    New Disco 2 Owner

Welcome. If you and your father already have a Defender then hopefully you knew enough about LRs to avoid the many dogs that are on the market. If you haven't done so already it might be worth going over the checks at the link below. You might find an issue you missed first time...

Help needed - Disco 2 sunroof seals

My electric sunroofs and I have an understanding. I don't open them and in return they don't leak. Also having a hard roof tent permanently mounted over them helps. ;) Welcome to the site. I you tell us something about your Disco here and post your query in the Discovery section, you will...

Just bought Disco 2 TD5. Bristol area.

Given the amount of labour they spent on it over 5 days thoroughly cleaning off any mud and grease inside the chassis and out - active and passive drying - stripping off the previous waxoil - inspecting every inch to ensure it does not need work - treating and stabilising surface rust - masking...

No worries, it will get sorted and you will start to love your new Disco. This link might help on the alarm issue. https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/handy-buying-alarm-info.311291/ I would get any welding done on the chassis asap and get the whole thing protected inside and out. I went...

Just bought Disco 2 TD5. Bristol area.

Welcome to the Forum. Buying a D2 is a tricky business, but the key is really the chassis. If you bought one with a genuinely sound chassis (or at least one that can be decently repaired with welding or a part-chassis replacement) then pretty much everything else is economically viable. If...

Disco 2 pre face lift cdl connection

Yes he did, because that is how you deal with CDL on a pre-facelift model. Engage and disengage CDL with the engine running and the TC remains engaged. Engage CDL with the engine stopped and the TC and HDC are disabled. Stop the engine with the CDL still engaged and the TC is disabled when you...
