To Dubai or not to Dubai- that is the question!

Dubs is good, after you adjust a bit. Been here 3 years and it is still growing on me. Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia .......

    upgraded alternators

I just had my Bosch 150 A refurbed - new bearings and regulator - for about GBP 150, and I think that's a bit pricey, given the actual price of bearings, but a bit cheaper than the GBP 700 for a new one!

    Baby Seat Recommendations

We have a Maxi Cosi base and bucket seat, and the seat is removable (of course!) and fits onto the push chair. Base fits nicely with the seat belt, well made. Bit heavy. Seat lining comes of for washing. Only limiting factor on choice is the type of fitting to let you plonk the bucket onto...

ABS Fault - Pump Pressure Switch

The same switch was fitted to 1990s Saabs - it might be cheaper to get a new one from a Saab parts place. Saab part number 8994071

OK OK So ive been in denial !!

Because the engineers at Rover couldn't push the liners in hard enough ..... they weren't inserted until they stopped at the lip.

    EAS versus Coil conversion

I can vouch for the inferior ride on springs, being lucky enough :) to own both; the ride is more refined on air. If you can just tackle things step by step the EAS is not too demanding to keep healthy (ok, I know this is easy for me to say ....).

Help with a flat battery and broken central locking

I've never done this, but I think that you can connect 12v to the starter supply cable and this will energise the battery and possibly allow you to operate the central locking ... can also be done through a tow bar power socket.

    Swapping seat bases

Thanks. Not the dealer, but local guys who normally tackle anything are strangely reluctant to disturb the RR continuum ... So, to do it myself, do i need to shift the entire seat assembly, or can get at the fixings easily (oh, wait, it's a P38 ...) ? Cheers. And it was raining here...

    Swapping seat bases

Hi All, Has anyone actually swapped over the seat bases? Easy to do? I've tried to get it done by several different places but they don't want to do it ...... as if they are frightened of the RR Phantom ...

P38 change from EAS to springs

Oh, and I didn't jack the car, but put an axle stand under the chassis in case the suspension dropped unexpectedly.

P38 change from EAS to springs

Diagnostics would show the height being measured by the sensors and that way you can see which one is faulty.

P38 change from EAS to springs

Changing a height sensor takes 10 minutes (front ones, anyway). Unplug carefully, remove heatshield (front), two more bolts for the rheostat, pull rubber part gently off ...... really, if I can do it, anyone can. Just take it slowly and try not to break anything!

    Why set to UK Police?

Hi All, I've been tinkering with a few P38s, 1 GEMS and three Motronic, and they show "UK Police" in the BECM section. I set two of them to "Normal" thinking that "Police" was a mistake. But, now it seems that this region (Arabian Gulf) is set to "UK Police". Any idea why this is so...

    Eas height sensor

The eas software will tell you the live height sensor readings so you will see immediately if one is duff. However, you would probably get a soft fault warning on the dash if on sensor was badly out.
