I have one fitted (think it's the britpart one). I fitted it 6 years ago, hasn't failed me once, and I have done many many miles and lived out of the car for a good few months.
Only think I have has to do is spray a little grease into the hinges so it doesn't squeak. Maybe done that 5 times...

I had a DC made from a SW. The roof will be your first issue. If you look at it carefully you will need that the roof on a DC doesn't just END, it curves down. So if you want it to look right, thats your first issues. I have seen ones before that have a rear roof curve from a single cab, riveted...
I something simular to this recently.
The fuses (old class type) in mine where not reliable and I cleaned the connectors and replaces, this then made the lights work 99% of the time.
A RTT is defonetly an expensive way to go, but unfolds quickly, a nice thick matress, great views and you are off the muddy, stoney, uneven ground. If you are always at UK campsites then on, but go to eastern russia and it's the best thing.

yeah I've done a lot of that - even with a roof top tent. Scouted ahead to find a rest area that was all greenery and not actually services, and no one bothered us.
FYI depending on what you want, sides for a 90 are not expensive. many second hand pop up. you might just find replacing the whole sides is easier if there is any other work needed on them.
