Disco 2 TD5 aircon make go?

Right, as I slowly work through the niggles on this sorry excuse for a car, I've come to the AC. The diagnosis so far is pretty much "well, I know that bit is missing" but I dread to think what caused that whole gubbins to be removed. Am I worth just getting a used compressor, swapping the...

Day of tip runs and betting my swollocks off resulted in actually looking at the blower gubbins. 20 minutes work and a hamster wheel full of leaves removed and it no longer sounds like a tractor when you set the blower to max. Also blows, so that's good. Next up. New AC compressor, once I can...

Finally got around to the front wheel hub on the infernal disco 2. Three 1/2" breakers snapped, ended up buying a 1:58 torque multiplier off the bay of E. 43 quid, got the nut off fine, with only minor amounts of it lifting the car. Well worth the investment I reckon.

Looks like it might convince the nut!

Yup. Old 32mm 6 sided socket. Should probably get the imperial impact option. Buy it's the toss up now of trying to convince halfords to let me pay the difference for an upgrade, or just picking up a cheapy torque multiplier for 40 quid and hoping to get somewhere and gain a handy new toy.

Top hose replacement today. A month or so with an M8 bolt in the bleed screw hole was enough. Snapped the new breaker bar trying on the wheel bearing again. Which now has a proper wobble on. Thinking of buying an inch drive torque multiplier, and going back to a different halfords to get yet...

    Yup. D2 front passenger side.

Had a bash at the wheel bearing. Remarkably everything had been reassembled with copper grease at some point. But, well. The half inch persuader didn't take kindly to 18 stone on 6 foot of scaffold pole... so off to halfords for a replacement this week. Then I need to find a borrow of an...

Other what have u done on ur disco today

I hate this car... Today I changed the fuel filter, and broke the water sensor, because LR seem to think that something in contact with both grotty road water and really very warm diesel should be made of plastic, finger tight my arse. Just glad it's dim enough to not care about the sensor...

Disco 2 .... is something missing off the steering?

Yup, that's what I figured, but at least one slow thinker has worked on this thing, better to check.

Disco 2 .... is something missing off the steering?

I'm assuming the lack of a thinger here is intended, but with this particular shed. I figure worth asking before I start throwing money at other problems (effing wheel bearings).

Disco 2 CSI Leaky roof edition.

Been a bit up to my tits in life recently, the flu, calves to look after, general life. Anyway, Still not done anything, just keeping it under cover during the welshest of weathers. Which incidentally has solved the problem where it was a git to start on cold days, and the thing where I had...

Disco 2 CSI Leaky roof edition.

Lots of good advice here. I'm thinking I might have to hold off on doing the job for a few weeks at least, because, well, wales. and my landrover sized shed spaces have straw or livestock in. so that's a bit of a pain. I'll probably pull the roof card out when I can and just do the whole job...

I poked down all the drains when I had the roof apart, all seemed pretty clear, but I'm thinking now that the 4' or so of net curtain wire stuff was possibly too short, how far do the drains run?

I did all the inner frame gubbins, but not the sunroof and mechanism from the top.

That guide was the first thing I did, but handy to have the link again. I was considering adding duct tape, if only to rule out any more ingress through a whole bloody tube of sika.

Sadly, wales and heavy rain go together pretty well. I dunno, the bottom half seems to do pretty well at staying dry, just the top half is arses.

Right, so far I have peeled the **** bathroom mastic out of the sunroofs, done all the roof card fiddling, fettling, drain cleaning and suchlike. (to no avail) And mow I have replaced the mastic with sikaflex, as frankly I couldn't care less about working sunholes, I just want a dry car. And...

Disco 2 Aww bugger. Leaky sunroof.

I honestly wouldn't have minded if it didn't leak, ugly is okay it it's functional. Thankfully, the shed paint doesn't appear to have stuck to the car paint all that well, so I reckon I can get most of it off with some plastic scrapers and some time (and have a few rattle cans to hand for...
