apparently this will not fit my 90 according to the guy I spoke to at "bearmach" - its a pick up cab with a drop down back door, but may have been a van originally as it has holes for the side door hinges. I would go for the back swing carrier if it would fit on easy

I need to fit the spare wheel to the bonnet - can I use a rear door carrier? mainly for cost £500 for the Land Rover mount kit no thanks !! ....also easy availability. has anyone done this? I can't attach it anywhere else as its a pick up and I need the space in back as I have ordered a tonneau...

Did the job today finally and the Halfords bottles have a pipe hidden from view under the cap - topped up ok but I recon it needs something to stop it leaking now!!

that definitely needed replacement ! Thought it would be half an hour (two bolts) job but it wasn’t.

At the end of the day you did your due diligence and the vehicle checks out, as many have said from the original Landrover from 1991 there may not be much left that’s original as it would have rusted away by now so get the soft top on and your away ! Much cooler than a bug anyway they are even...

Thanks for the responses guys - have ordered two Armstrong ones from t bay for now and will swap them out. Would be nice to do the lot including springs but need to prioritise the jobs they are more urgent!!

The springs have surface rust and pitting but not sure how old they are - the vehicle is 1988 I think

Is it audible when your driving? The latest JBL ones I looked at don’t have hands free or I was going to get one

I think it will be the same in mine it’s really loud! I would be gutted to fit a stereo and not be able to hear it

It would just plug into the cigarette socket via a USB to charge up and then chuck it in the dashboard storage. That would take literally one minute. And also it would need a decent stereo/speakers as it’s ridiculously noisy when going any faster than walking pace on a flat surface.
