Is there a sunny solution ?

I keep mine on trickle via a Sealy solar panel. It's not big enough by a long way. So either go for a decent size or as you suggest disconnect battery.

    Stubborn swivel housing assembly bolts

Prior to snapping bolts like this, I have a little oxy propane set. Heat it up really well, and let it cool. There isn't too much around to set fire to - not much help now, maybe for the future. But at this stage, do all drilling and if it' isn't budging give it some heat, but might end of...

    Project Rusty.

When it looks to good to be true and all that, is what I'm thinking. Looking on their website, they advertise the product while showing videos of a different product in use..... And then there is: https://de-reviews.com/margaretcallig-best/ - But that is only one website review.

    Jai’s support/Camping Trailer project

Good progress, starting to take shape. Like you I've been trying to think of a way to keep the tent inside the trailers so it doesn't get smashed into low branches etc while driving. It's really high when on top of the Defender. But I found that my roof tent is too wide to fit within the roof...

    Jai’s support/Camping Trailer project

Was thinking of doing this also, the snag i found was that the side panels are angled, so if you cut them down the roof will be narrower than the shortened side panels. If that makes any sense....

    Footwell double skinned - query

Interesting, might have to have a closer look at mine.

    Footwell double skinned - query

Unfortunately I fell for this also, except mine was really obvious. Just clearly to excited about get a defender and missed the gapping holes in either footwell (covered my rubber mats) corn flake bulkhead, rear X member, mid X-member……

    110 Self leveling unit removal

Thanks all, will give it a go. I already planned on fitting intermediate springs so I'll see how it runs with these in.

    110 Self leveling unit removal

Hi all, I've been working at swapping the rear axle on my 110, all went well except the self leveller which split in two and pi55ed oil all over me. Seems the rod that goes through the middle has a knackered thread. I'll see if it's repairable but if it's not I'm not really wanting to dish out...

    Front axle grinding noise

As above, I'd say CV. But when mine was on the way out it made for a loud click, then vibration.

    No Backlash......

Hi all, though I'd dig this one out as its now resolved. Having done so I'm amazed at how long this has dragged on for! Any way, thanks to Jamesmartin for the top advice. New genuine bearings have sorted this problem out. I managed to create some more problems for myself along the way, which I...

Sky Tag gets my vote, really helpful staff, easy to use, and not crazy money.

    Isolator Switch

As above, I'd guess it was an isolator for something else, that perhaps isn't there anymore - maybe winch? Did the prior owner give any indication? To complete isolate the vehicle would mean a connection in the positive line from the battery. You could confirm this by checking if the main power...

    Wanted - worn out swivels

Good stuff! Nice for them to find a home use, other than the bin.

    Spinning noise

Maybe start of Syncromesh wear? Without hearing the noise difficult to say, but mine does make a noise that I would describe as you have, and I know the Syncro is going.

    Landrover 110 2.5 Petrol

I've had this a few times with the V8 in mine. I just leaned out the mix on the carbs for the purpose of MOT. But I think the issue was mostly me messing with things. Odd that it has suddenly changed. Do you use it regularly? (old fuel).

    Wanted - worn out swivels

So finally pulled my finger out! They are 16kg all in! Via post office they want £28.80 for postage, but I've found a website that will do the same service for £12.90! PM me if that's good for you. Might be able to pop um in the post this weekend. I've attached a photo just to make sure it the...
